It's holiday time. Krn had a lot of visitors today. I met many foreigners. The morning was still nice. Around 11 during the day it got foggy. When I was descending it cleared up. I went via Korenova. Tall grass in places. The path is poorly visible there. Down I planned via Batognica and past Lužniško Lake, but it was in clouds all the way, so I went straight down the slab. On the top it wasn't summery at all. Cold when the sun hid.

I filled up water at the hut. It said it wasn't drinkable. I didn't have any digestive problems.

There are huge numbers of these thorny flowers.

and I'm back on this supposedly difficult climbing path

also a bouquet of edelweiss is on the path

nevertheless I spent about an hour at the top

@Todi, I completely agree about the fast time; otherwise we almost never hike the path at the speed written on the signs, so still I think that when you are already back we are still high on the mountain... Thanks to both of you nasmeh

Has anyone been recently and knows snow conditions? Most interested in Silva Korena path from Drežnica. Is the path passable without winter gear?

Krn 8.10. From Planina Kuhinja past Lužniško Lake to Batognica. Descent to saddle. Then those 20 min to top. Down via southern path to start. Shelter no longer open. Day pleasant for hiking. Views were there too, though it was Sunday. nasmeh

On descent it closed in and stayed.

. At Vrh nad Peski we were sure you were coming towards us, but it was another woman. We were off by just one day velik nasmeh

The hut in Lepena was already closed, but in the evening they were still tidying up inside it

Above the Lepena valley, the sun is awakening

The residents have already said goodbye even from the houses.

Up here we go for the beginning, further on as far as we can manage.

The larches are slowly taking leave. One or two weeks of nice weather will still show their decoration.

Peak above Peski. In my opinion Aljaž towers belong only to Triglav and not to other peaks.

The views were phenomenal. There are not many such days in the year and even those are more in winter.

Planina Kuhinja. There were sheet metal scraps everywhere down there.

Yes really Saturday was one of the nicer days and views. Especially on Krn. Couldn't go Saturday, so we chose Sunday anyway. I secretly hoped clouds would wait till we reach top. And yes it closed then. nasmeh

Maybe someone knows if Dom pri Krn.Jezerih or Gomiščkovo shelter is open this weekend? I know they are officially closed, but given the nice weather...

Gomiščkovo shelter is closed, you'll need to prepare a snack on your own. Huge crowds though, it all reminds of the best summer days. Don't know about Dom pri jezerih.

Krn this morning. Snow aplenty, a bit more where it's drifted. Actually the least on the summit where it's most blown off. During the day it melted quickly, so conditions will probably be summer-like again soon mežikanje

Photos are just from the phone, so not very high quality...

For us locals this Krn is already quite "gnawed" but no big deal, it never disappoints nasmeh

On the way back it had already got him...

Somewhere in the middle of the plate it reaches him to the knees too...

On Kanin too everything looks blown away, so the lifts probably aren't running... hehe

Interesting today 11.11. Eleventh time this year on Krn. Weather conditions, well November-like. Didn't need winter gear. Carried it in the backpack. Three hours from Planina Kuhinja to the top. Well some arrived earlier too. Quite some snow towards the top. Nice, though no glory today like yesterday. Cold on top. Nice views today. Afternoon closed in and descent was in fog.
