If weather allows I plan this Sunday from Lepena to Krn Lake. What are the snow conditions on the path? Is the path trodden and frozen or too much snow for trudging?

That's completely logical, but I'm asking how the path is usually arranged in winter because I haven't gone here in winter. Even if I were interested in today's conditions, I'd probably get them too late on the forum..... don't you think? I also know how they forecast the weather, but I asked generally because if and when the weather is good, I plan that path.

In winter conditions hiking trails aren't maintained. Depending on the goal, take extra gear, more not less, and go. If you're lucky, someone's gone ahead marking the route, else privilege to break trail yourself. Safe steps on trodden track or virgin snow!

From pl. Kuhinje in winter, consider current conditions; at 3rd degree better to Kališče, Dobrča or Kriška gora. Past Krn Lake in winter only touring skis or snowshoes.

It's true what gely says. I ask if I'm not sure about the conditions and when I go alone. Usually I still meet him at the parking lot on planina Kuhinja, where he waits for buddy Mrjan and they go together. When Krnska plošča is snowy he goes straight up. Usually footprints are made. At least there were when I went. Crampons and ice axe are mandatory already because of the steep slope. And good luck on the path I wish.

Around 10 o'clock it was gone. Then only wind and cold. In the drink that was left to me, ice formed. All praise goes to the brand Ice Peak. I think it's Finnish. I had pants and windbreaker of that brand. Pants stayed dry although I was in snow and it snowed all the way down. Backpack and all else I had was soaked. In such extreme conditions quality of materials shows quickly.

When there is sun in winter, go to Krn, you need real luck with the weather.

On Tuesday I was under the south wall of Batognica. Conditions: packed powder snow, at certain places windblown to the icy base, which formed probably due to rain that fell during the thaw. The plateau looks quite solidly covered. From tracks in the snow I read that at least four went in the direction of Krn (+two were skiing). But it is quite cold these days so conditions remain the same, meaning under the plateau settled whole, partly windblown, hard also icy base below. How it is higher (plateau, top) I don't know.
