Congratulations! Great photos, especially picture 13 (Montaž) - picture for the frame. Keep it up. I'm also planning to visit Krn and Matajur soon. Since I'm doing SPP this year I'm interested if the stamp on Krn is accessible or still under snow?

But no stamp was visible at the top, only snow everywhere nasmeh

There was really a lot of snow, but with such strong sun it melts quickly, and soon the marked path will be visible all the way to the hut.

We were there on Sunday, May 6th. The path from Planina Kuhinja to the top of Krn is normally passable without snow. We went back via Batognica and past the lake in Lužnica, where there's still quite a lot of snow.

Krn 20.5.2018. Although it is May, today it wasn't exactly May-like warm weather. Many hikers reached the mountain. And I walked the path which was snow-free to the top from Planina Kuhinja. One group came from the town Mestre. Triglav wasn't visible from the summit of Krn. You could see the lake and snow, of which there is still quite some on the north side. Something interesting happened to me too. For Ločanka. On the descent near the junction to Drežnica there was an adult viper on the path. When it saw me it curled into the grass and didn't let me photograph it. I hurried, but it was faster and hid in a hole. But I didn't want anything from it. Caution is not superfluous.

wonderful flowers now blooming on the path and in the grasses on the plateau.

in such weather it's really nice to walk.

the winter room was full of us hikers. The logbook is also full.

May is also like this, although the most beautiful month.

Well, the snake prefers to retreat, if it feels threatened it just defends itself. If you're sitting somewhere in the grass, watch that it doesn't crawl into your backpack, like once happened to a hiker at Krns. And when he reached into the backpack with his hand, it bit him. smile

Krn a little differently. On 10.6. around 19:00 I set off from Planina Kuhinja to Gomišček Shelter. The weather did not look the best, as rain caught me after an hour of walking. Still, I decided to continue. Shoes and socks soaked. I did not take spares. The grasses were wet. I took the sleeping bag with me. I did not need the lamp until the hut. The rain meanwhile stopped. At the shelter pleasantly warm. No one. Deaf silence. I sat on the bench outside and drank a beer. In the morning at 5 the rain woke me. And a rainbow in the valley. At the top before seven. The weather improved. It became almost too hot. From Krn to Vrh nad Peski. And admired the flowers, there are really lots now. Descended to Lužnica to the starting point.

at 10 PM at Gomiščkovo zavetišče very nice. Everything calm.

I photograph this one too. Can't pass by.

The path to Veh above Peski has two snow patches. I avoided the last one and took the shortcut.

Lužniško jezero has plenty of water and some snow remains on one side.

Some snow patches to the lake, but easy to cross.

The path follows the rainbow trail from the densest fog. Yesterday 19.6. above Krn two-thousanders no fog. A day perfect for an all-day tour, wind caresses you and sun at times too hot. First we thought just Rdeči rob and Škofič. Then all decided for a loop tour. Include Vrh nad Peski and Krn last, descent to valley. Dolenjec and Primorec. Good combination. Also had a dog with us, almost the leader. Hope Damjan not offended, as only he on Škofič before yesterday. Tour from nine in the morning to nine in the evening. On Krn around 18. Shelter preparing for opening. But hut on planina Kuhinja open, friendly caretakers from Prlekija. And beer chilled.

So we agreed on Rdeči rob and Škofič, because I hadn't been there yet.

From Leskovec to Lužnica. Planiec is already descending. He got up early. We chat with him for a while.

Summit of Rdeči rob. It is grassy. 1910 m high. And a great viewpoint. Two more Styrians kept us company at the top. But those two, after going to Škofič, descended to Planina Leskovec.

I didn't know that the ridge to Škofič is so extensive.

Still on Rdeči rob. When you're on this summit for the first time.

From Peski we went along the lower path. It is quite gravelly and awkward for walking.

the dog has walked quite a bit today. Born for the mountains. Otherwise, it attended a school for guide dogs.

on Škofič there is nothing at the top except a pile of stones.

Today did a circular route from planina Kuhinja. First to Krn then over Batognica past the lake to Lužnica back.
Snow only below Prag, and that one presents no issues.
