On 19.8. From Drežnica via Silva Korena path. Although it was Sunday, I didn't see anyone all the way to the shelter. Nicely routed climbing path. No slipping in the grass. In the afternoon, when I was at the top, it clouded over and started raining and thundering. The entire descent on the normal path was in rain and thunder. That's why the stuffiness was felt during the ascent, although most of the path was in shade.

Impression I got: a nicely arranged village.

Although I haven't been here probably for a huge number of years.

Morning still quite clear but very muggy.

I pass by the bivouac at 1160 m. And the thermometer showed 14 degrees.

So many lady's slippers as here along the path, I have never seen.

Inscription on the stone higher up, then the climbing section begins.

Such rings, probably very old, line the entire climbing path in the wall.

Sign somewhere in the middle of the path.

All cables are in good condition, only the markers have faded considerably.

The rest of the path awaits me. Those five hours are realistic.

At the cache box. One went ahead of me. He signed in, but I didn't see him.

Probably I wasn't the only one who got soaked. It was such a day, but still a nice tour.

Please help. I have planned a two-day tour in Krnsko pogorje. From Dom v Lepeni to Planinski dom pri Krnskih jezerih (need stamp), then Vrh Krna. Overnight in shelter below Krn, then to Krnska škrbina, Batognica and back to Krnska jezera, but on path to pick up war remains and monument. Must return to Lepena mainly due to car. Anyone better idea for nice loop.

Yes, go to Batognica, stay on SPP to Prehodavci, then turn left to lake.

Sunday Krn 9.9. Morning, at eight, when I started walking still without a cloud. Parking full. But still found space for the vehicle. And on the southern path lots of hikers. It didn't bother me at all. It was very hot. Towards eleven o'clock, it started brewing from the valley and clouds covered and uncovered Krn and neighboring peaks all day. For descent I chose the path under Batognica. I intended to go to Škofič, but it was already in clouds in the afternoon, which is almost usual for this range. Otherwise I had a pretty long tour. At 18:00 I finished walking.

Maselnik on the descent is visible like this.

And I meet Milkot, almost the only one on the path above Lužniško Lake during the descent. He is just going up.

To Krn 3.10.2018. This time a bit different. From Planina Zapleč we headed to Krnčica. We thought it would be colder, but it was quite warm. From Krnčica to Srednji vrh, otherwise probably less visited, but really nice. And on to Krn, where all four of us slept on hard benches. We had sleeping bags with us, since the hut is closed. There are blankets inside too, but they didn't warm much. If we ignore that, we had a great sunset and view all the way to the sea. In the morning we went to the saddle and on to the Griva ridge. From there to Skutnik. The mule paths here are not in the best condition and you have to be careful not to get lost. They are rarely visited and it's good to have someone with you who has been here before. And there was fresh snow in places on the path. From Skutnik we went to Lopatnik, or to the Vrata saddle and down the mule path to Planina Zapleč, where we had the cars.

This is the second time we take this path from the Zapleč pasture.

Darinka, how do you mean - hut closed? Probably the hut is closed, winter room is open though, right? Did you sleep in the winter room?

Yes, the winter room is open, but inside only benches. You sleep quite hard. Even though we had sleeping bags and put some blankets on the benches it's not pleasant sleeping. However you turn. I called and asked the hut keeper pl. society, why they don't bring at least some synthetic pillows, since the bivouac is open and intended for someone to overnight. He promised they would arrange it. We'll see.

For the last October day nice weather was forecast, so we used it to visit Krn from the direction of Planina Kuhinja. A beautiful day was promised, but already at about 1700m we stepped almost into real winter. Accordingly fewer visitors. nasmeh
