Started late, up the gully to Krn, descended the normal path. Conditions good but need to start early. Crampons and ice axe mandatory as it's hard and icy under the summit.

It could be said that the day was like from a dream. Sky cloudless. Some skiers and even fewer hikers. I knew the conditions. The two who told me about them went to Krn today. One with skis, the other after work in the afternoon. Summit windy. But beautiful. At the shelter David dug out the snow where the bivouac door is today. We three straight up the slab. Anita and Marjan first time like this in snow in steep terrain. On the steps that were made. But the steepness challenges. Crampons put on already under Kožljak. On descent sun warmed like summer. Snow softened but still walkable.
For a while David went with us.1

Today 6.3. Krn fully wintery. Snow-covered. We were the only ones today. Went on the path as far as possible. Then straight up the slab. Shelter not visible as clouds covered it. Otherwise interesting and nice tour in March.

Quickly decided for afternoon Krn, after 15:00 start walking up direct through steep gullies, grass to Krnska streha. Above gully met darinka with companion, exchanged few words and soon continued. Higher put on crampons, the higher the harder it got. Under and above shelter impossible to walk without crampons. Summit windy but not too bad. Descended back to shelter and before sunset down.

This time didn't follow Ločankina's words that nothing is asked and just go. New snow had fallen. Asked Boštjan who was on Krn yesterday about conditions. Told me everything exactly. Only the wind wouldn't calm down. Nice to observe the play of snow that the wind was carrying. Especially the last part to the shelter was demanding due to gusts that pinned you to the snow. Couldn't go into the shelter because wind had drifted snow in front of the door. From Pl. Kuhinja went as usual on the path until possible. Although usually when they reach Kožljak height they go straight up the slab in the snow. No track at all, wind had swept away what remained. Also on the path where the branch to Drežnica is, we didn't choose it anymore due to too steep slope. Despite using crampons and ice axe. Went straight. Summit had great views. Even the wind eased a bit. On descent met Matej who was just going up. Next days probably warmer and snow melting. Also on descent felt the sun burning, but when wind blew it cooled properly. Winter as if it doesn't want to say goodbye. 21.3.2019

Krn 20.4.2019. Nice day for ascent and descent. Several of us on the path and at the summit. No winter gear needed. Took it anyway. Snow on the slab melts fast. Summit soon snow-free.

Krn 2.5.2019. Not a much visited summit today. Three hikers turned back to the valley. Due to fog and wind. And because it was colder and no views. No rain. At the summit about half an hour. Winter gear with me, but not used. Path to the shelter. Towards summit snow melts slowly, still plenty. Though May beginning, enough clothes and gloves, temps low, cool fast.

There's still quite a bit of snow, was on Mrzli vrh and in Bovec, it's slowly decreasing but will last a while longer.

What are the conditions on the Silva Koren route. The snowfield at the entrance is surely still there, what about higher up in the wall?
