From planina Kuhinja it was bare on Saturday, 10.11.2018. How it is on the north side (due to fog) could not be seen.

Today it was clear and no snow from the summit to the other side was visible. It was warm and there was no wind.

Krn 15.11. My fifteenth ascent this year. A day as you could only wish for. I expected wind, but there was none. Not cold either. But when you don't know, you still take too many clothes with you. There were very few hikers. On weekdays, there is no crowd. On descent I met a border guard who wasn't even young, who was only going up. He told me he had worked and would use the afternoon, even though he would descend in the dark. It's worth it for such a beautiful day, even if the day is short. I didn't decide to go to Vrh nad Peski, I preferred to stay longer on the summit. I wasn't exactly early; when I go alone, I don't stress about time.

Krn 28.11. Another sunny day. On some parts of the path from Planina Kuhinja the wind blew icy cold. I knew the plateau was whitewashed and nothing more. Better to have winter gear with you, as the snow under the hut was already hard and dangerous for slipping. It starts at 1700 m. Yesterday there were only five of us on the summit. The wind had blown some snow into the winter room through the cracks. From the parking lot to the summit and back it was 12 km and 1300 m elevation gain. Yes, and you have to dress appropriately for the temperatures. Double up everything, and it's fine.

We started late, only after 9 o'clock, up past the lake in Lužnica to the summit of Batognica. It was blowing very coldly, we descended to the saddle and up towards Krn. We arrived just in time and observed the sunset on Krn. After sunset we slowly went to the hut and back to Planina Kuhinja.

To Krn on 28.12., last time this year. From the parking at the end of Krn village. At 8 a.m. there was only one vehicle. On the path higher up there is snow and ice, so be careful. I went rather straight over the grass to the hut. There I put on crampons to the summit and used them on the descent until there was no more snow. Because it had warmed up, the path was quite muddy and slippery. Nice day. On the summit little wind and too little snow for winter time. Still, you need to have it with you and use winter gear where needed.

How did Ločanka already write? Don't ask anything and just go. I did a nice tour today. From planina Kuhinja past Leskovica, Lužnica, Batognica and over Krn circular to the starting point. I really didn't know how much snow there was. But winter gear was needed already on the path above Lužniško jezero because the snow was icy. And further to the top of Krn too. I met no one all the way to the top. Pure atmosphere. There was quite some snow on the path to Batognica. And cold. But not windy. And the clouds had a working day. It was Friday.

Thanks Ivi. Really glad this winter tour over Lužnica came true for me. Don't need much when path already planned in mind. nasmeh And mist and cloud games give winter tour special charm.

Didn't think to go over Lužnica to Krn again so soon, but it happened. Some new snow, not much. Winter gear mandatory because path icy everywhere. Yesterday no one on path except us. Day full of surprises, from cloud grayness and icy wind some places, especially at saddle it pulled. Views great all around because clouds lower. Day 16.1.2019

On Sunday Marjan was up there, who knows Krn well. Conditions not good, snow collapsing to the neck, he said. On top 2 meters. When snow settles a bit, probably harder base and walking nicer. On Friday Boštjan goes and tells how snow is on path. Learned from Boštjan M. Road, as I remember, Kamno Vrsno Krn always cleared and drivable.
