What are the conditions on Krn from Krn Lake? Is there still a problem with snow somewhere?

There is still snow, but it can be bypassed.

felix, read my comment above, snow will persist on this path for a long time, but it's not problematic. We only bypassed one snowfield, crossed the rest, that way it was easier to follow the marked path too. They go up nicely from that side too. nasmeh

Yesterday on Krn. From planina Kuhinje to planina Leskovca, lake in Lužnica, Srednji vrh, Batognica and to Krn summit. Snow only in shady hollows anymore, none on the path.
Down the classic to Kuhinje. No snow anywhere here.

Sunday Krn. Clear until ten o'clock. Later more and more clouds. Summit visited.

as it is still early, there are not many hikers.

Up the gully to Krnska škrbina and on to Krn. Strong wind on summit, I had thick gloves and good clothing with me. Descent to Kožljak to watch sunset, descent further south and down somewhere on steep grasses.

On Krn we always have a good time and so it was today too. Up past Lužnica, pyramid and over Batognica; down over the slab. We were a bit surprised that we met ascending people even at 14 zmeden

Not quite current conditions - Krn, Batognica and Vrh nad Peski from planina Kuhinja on Friday, 12.11.2021. Return past the lake in Lužnica and planina Leskovca. Southern slopes were completely dry, on northern approx. 10 cm snow, which was mushy in places, icy in others.

On 21.11.'21 the path Kuhinja - Krn - Batognica - Lužnica - Kuhinja is dry. On northern sides (like e.g. towards Batognica) there is frozen snow. But tomorrow conditions might change!

Waking up at 02h at night isn't exactly easy work, especially if you know it's -5/MI2 outside; we were determined and said let's go,, because we knew it would be a day like from dreams. Morning coffee, quickly something to eat and .. into the icy car ,, straight to Pl-Kuhinja. At 4h we already bit into the darkness towards the goal at 2244m. Below the summit it started blowing lightly,, we didn't pay attention to it because thinking about what we came for warmed our hearts strongly.. The birth of a new day is always a fascinating experience, sunrise always does some miracle for me. After sunrise we treated ourselves to freshly brewed coffee and since we had the whole day ahead we extended the tour over Batognica, Lake in Lužnica Maselnik and back to Kuhinja.

I would just sit and sit and enjoy endlessly

Hari, Vesna, congrats for a super well-spent day! For wonderful pics. Especially the birth of the day is crazy! I believe it was a crisis to get up in the middle of the night. But such views outweigh... nasmeh

Up steep grasses to Krn roof and further along track to summit. The whole path was warm, for return already frozen. Below roof turned left.

22.12.2021. It was a day of the nicest dreams. A real poem. But the morning was foggy. At the parking lot minus five degrees. Only one vehicle. At the shelter we chatted with two guys - locals, who went over Srednji vrh to Krn. On descent met two ski tourers. A girl and a guy. That was all of us at the summit. Really a lot of snow has been removed. No cornice at the top, as usual in winter. When climbing above planina Zaslap Krn dressed in blue. And stayed so the whole day. The wind even quieted. Only at the top lightly blowing. At some 1200 m noticed about seven rock ptarmigans running in a line on snow. Not usual they are so low. The path is well trodden. The snow held nicely too. No problems. We decided for direct ascent from Kožljak to summit. Those who made the track did it without turns. Usually as far as I remember it was zigzag. At the shelter it was really calm and warm.
