On Sunday on the southern path snow was just a trace, but it was cold and strong wind with rapidly changing weather - from sleet and rain to sun. No other peculiarities.

djimuzl, the photos have quite a dramatic tone, it's very nice to look at them, but wouldn't want to be there then under the gray cover of heavy clouds..

Today via Hanzova to Little Mojstrovka. Cornices, ice, cables under snow,... in short lots of caution needed.

@ursa2212 23.9. I made a track to Little Mojstrovka via Hanzova. As for snow on the route, there's more of it with altitude and quite a few traverses are quite unpleasant. Fixed ropes are under snow. I dug some out, but it's still quite delicate. Snow is south-facing and steps are often insecure, especially in the middle section. My opinion is to wait with Hanzova until lower temperatures if ice and snow are not a problem for you. From Little Mojstrovka to Velika there's a track laid. I suggest going classic (ridge) to Little and then to Velika.

@volk986, how quickly does the snow usually disappear on Hanzova? Do you maybe know if any more fell last week? In your opinion, can one currently go up Hanzova reasonably safely without winter gear?

@Naprosyn, given the high temperatures snow melts very quickly even in shady spots. It was raining on Vršič and I think the snow cover is rapidly decreasing. Definitely didn't clear it completely this week though. As for winter gear I can only say that great caution is needed in several places, but gear like crampons and ice axe don't play a big role. Snow is south-facing and you make steps yourself. It sinks past the ankles, knees. At two spots where I dug out the rope that was deep under snow, due to drifts the snow was chest-high against the wall. Everyone should judge for themselves how they fare in such conditions.

Has anyone been to M. Mojstrovka this weekend? What are the conditions? Still need winter gear? We'd go up Hanzova and back south? Thanks, LP; P

During the week you first have to count on the road from Kr.Gora direction being closed during the day.

Me too asking for info about the path. Would tomorrow's trip be possible without winter gear? Thank you very much!

I was on Mala Mojstrovka today. Up Hanzova route, down the southern route. The path is completely dry. Snow on the path (Hanzova) only for a few steps, nothing dangerous.

A bit late start from Vršič via normal route to top of Mala Mojstrovka, snow on lower scree part 20cm, higher on scree half meter. Along ridge partly windblown, some drifts. Below summit half meter snow, here I broke trail and it took quite some strength. One ski tourer on way. Fog lifted quickly though and descent in fog. Road passable.

Hello everyone. Are these couloirs suitable for beginners and is it time to climb up? I assume there is enough snow, but I'm worried about avalanche. Thank you very much
