Congratulations, Darinka. You described and pictured it so well, as if I had been up there. All the best on your paths.

That's how I decided after consideration. It's good to wait a bit for the head to cool off. Especially these days when it's hot even in the mountains. Thanks to all you well-meaning people. Yes, we humans are all different, no one without sin. Take care.

darinka4 Look, as many as twenty-three thumbs up. If you added photo 32, where you're in swimsuit right before jumping into the water, the thumbs up would definitely be a three-digit number

On Sunday it was quite a suitable day for the first visit to Montaž, although most of the day was wrapped in fog. The idea was also helped a bit by darinka4 , especially when she mentioned swimming in Rabeljsko Lake . Already as we approached Vrh Strmali, chamois started lifting their heads from all sides, curiously accompanying our entry into their world, and the feeling was as if they were expressing welcome, since one of them quite friendly escorted us for quite some time along the path. Otherwise the ladder was quite occupied on Sunday, had to wait a bit for our turn. Most had self-belay sets, the summit on Sunday was mostly taken by Slovenians, the Pecol pasture by tourist Italians. The end, as mentioned, in Rabeljsko Lake, where you cool off at about 18 degrees, and you really shouldn't miss that. We'll come back, we pondered, since Montaž is a royal mountain and the impressions are such that they call for a repeat visit. Especially if you missed the views from the top!

Does anyone know the current conditions on the Via Amalia path? Is winter gear needed? Thanks.
