No, no....not at allvelik nasmeh! But on lower hills, e.g. on Matajur you find real summit books, with hard cover, numbered...On a mountain like Montaž just papers..You remain a bit surprised.zmeden.If there's already a metal box, they could take care of the book too. Industrious Slovenes then! Ciao, Sabina.nasmeh

Beautiful day you had up on the summit. And I thought I was among the last up there. Over Pipanova ladder I noticed that only women belay with full gear, because without belay it goes much faster with one hand on holds and the other on cable, after a few steps just move hand to ladder for a couple of rungs. But interesting during my descent as last in column, that from above loudly whistled some stone, probably from chamois. At least I had helmet on head then.
Whoever knows Maja Roš, I met her yesterday by chance on Šmarna gora. She lives in Ljubljana, family home in Kobarid. Congratulations to her for ascent to Šmarna gora, although she brought one still unborn child with her.

Wasn't that one with Humar in the Himalayas?

She is a journalist and also a mountaineer-climber. Of course she was in the Himalayas with Tomaž Humar then. She also praised Igor as an excellent guide for groups of friends, because in his company in the mountains she feels completely safe. But Maja has also climbed quite a few difficult high routes, so she's not some ordinary journalist. She also loves mountains a lot and touring skiing. I recognized her in the line for drinks, since not long ago she climbed Findenegg chimney in Montaž with Igor, which is posted on hribi.net

Viharnik sorry but you're an idiot. I admit your ascents, but your sugary praising of some and belittling others is not mountaineering at all. And posting Maja's pregnancy, whom I know personally, has nothing to do with your weird comments. Be at least that good and post your achievements. But if someone clips onto Pipan's ladder just to photograph the thing, it's for safety reasons and that's right!!!

Hey viharnik, you're nuts. This can also be read as if with Igor we didn't provide complete safety after all. eek

This is how I'll reply to you, Kaveljc
My own ascents in the mountains are no special achievements, just in the framework of a friend of the mountains.
As for underestimating, I'm already seriously concerned and surprised where all we climbed in the past, using only rocks and some rare pitons, with prepared ropes in between. Well, now in the mountains everything is quite different, so I use protection only in busy summer.
But Maja I didn't even know before, as when I spotted her I first thought of the journalist from Himalaya, later it dawned on me that she's spitting image from the ascent on Montaž, for which I asked her too. If I praised her on the forum about her feat for the ascent on Šmarna gora, I don't see anything bad in that. Family is really something beautiful, isn't it?

Sorry Viharnik, but in my opinion you're mistaken about self-belaying too. I don't believe only women belay themselves. We both were clipped in, and I see nothing bad in it. Of course it was different once, and you can still go to Montaž via Dogna today if you want to test your psyche and climbing skills. But if you have belay option, I don't know why not use it. If something happened to us on the ladder uninsured, I'm curious what people would write then. We weren't in much hurry anyway. That news about Maja I'd keep to myself too. You're becoming worse than women! No hard feelings. Everyone thinks their own way!

Kaveljc, I totally agree with you, viharnik, I wonder if you were even on the right mountain, since you climbed "four" through Findenegg, come on don't exaggerate..., is this rating from "fear has big eyes", self-aggrandizement or you simply missed the couloir...

Let me add something. My wife and I were on Montaz twice in the last two years, both times ascent through Findenegg couloir, descent via Pipan ladder. The ascent isn't exactly easy, but to say it's a four—I agree with Santi—we didn't have that feeling at all. On the descent via Pipan ladder we both used a self-belay kit, as always on demanding secured routes. I think at our age (62), we act right and responsibly.

After a few months' break I opened this forum again and it's clear right away why I don't use it often anymore - some boast all the time, others belittle those who use belay devices, others wouldn't hammer any piton in the rock lest someone else gets up there... What's wrong with us, people?! Let's have some tolerance and culture towards each other!!! Mountains aren't anyone's property, mountains will stand there long after we're gone... So - don't quarrel about everything and everyone, let the forum be a place where we who need info on conditions get it. Leave each other freedom for mountaineering, everyone go according to their abilities and capabilities...nasmeh

Tadeya, I completely agree with you. All who are so impatient on forums have personal problems that you throw out of yourselves in such a stupid way. Leave marked paths for us šodrovci and use pathless terrain or become alpinists. Do you have the courage for that!?
No hard feelings.

You achieve the most if you don't react to such offensive posts and simply ignore them.

Afternoon after work, when the weather clears up, I drive to Neveja and with skis to Montaz's high plateau. Obviously winter has at least temporarily arrived, snow in Neveja around 20 cm, higher in drifts even over 60 cm.

@IgorZlodej

What's up with you? You're going 100 an hour? You just hit the gas into the mountains.

Once I read you've been to Mangart 60x, damn some of us haven't even made it once.

Otherwise it's nice to see your pics.
