Igor, so the skis are "waxed" and slid nicely into the new season! Good luck and thanks as always for the nice pics! Hey, mountain lover, you're still young

Mountain lover, I won't stray from this topic, so just this: surely many ascents await you and with them, I hope, good experiences. Good luck!

Gita photos are wonderful! All praise! Read quite a bit about Montaz and it seems pretty demanding. Can you maybe say a bit about snowfields and falling rocks, which are supposed to be constant there? Montaz been on my mind for a while now....

Which route (via glacier or via ladder) is more suitable or usual for ascent and which for descent? Otherwise GITA nice pics, good weather, mighty mountain.

Thanks ...it was really an exceptional day... @pohodnik11 - as I wrote, on the way to bivouac and through glacier three small snow patches, path via Pipan ladder dry, falling rock hazard of course exists and helmet mandatory!!! @robter - if choosing between these two routes, usually up through glacier and down ladder, of course reverse not forbidden ...and of course there are other approaches to Montaz...

Here it should be emphasized that the ascent through the glacier is unprotected, climbing varies between I and II grade !!!

Robert, you can spice up the route a lot if after descent over Pipanka (helmet obligatory) a bit below the scree you turn left to the marked path Sent. attrezz. Leva (Leva path). It'll take you an extra hour, at the end you'll regret it's over. The path is very similar to Goitanka, i.e. wonderful . You'll descend to the same starting point at hut Brazza.
Greetings, Emil

The ladder path can be quite tricky when a queue forms on it - some climb up, others down, lots of waiting, yielding,... so for ascent via ladder I'd advise mainly early hour, for possible descent there's a variant to continue some 10m along the ridge from ladder and descend on fairly poorly visible path straight to small scree under ladder.

I went up through the ozebnik and down the lojtri. In the ozebnik nonstop rockfall and stones falling, at least for me it was so. Mostly small stones but of course some bigger too. It falls because goats kick them from top of the ozebnik.

I'm wondering if it's worth going to Montaz tomorrow (Saturday)?
