Another one here who'd like to go up, if @rozka goes let me know up there I'd join + @jany if you do...just tell a few days before if self-belay kit isn't necessary.

I plan to visit Špik Hude police on Aug 12 or 13. "Left" route tempts me a lot, but at least from Igor and Rozka pics it seems self-belay kit is necessary, so I'll rather choose Špik Hude police direct from Rif Brazza and visit Škrbina above trattoria. Rozka and Igor - from your pics ("left" route) no one had self-belay kit? What's your opinion on that route? Possible without self-belaying?

Also through the Findenegg chimney we didn't have a self-belay kit, because there's nowhere to clip in For the Leva path and similar (Ceria-Merlone, Anita Goitan) I definitely recommend a self-belay kit.

I did Leva last year without the kit, and I was damn sorry I didn't take it, so take it if you want to enjoy. At least that's what I think.

Morning at Pecol and first to the saddle Vrh Strmali to relive memories of past ski tours. Then along one of the most beautiful ledges in the Julian Alps to Suringar bivouac and via Findenegg to the summit. To the top without gear, unnecessary, helmet of course. Wonderful. Descent via Lojtrca, then left to the Leva path and along it to the saddle below Špik Hude Police, that part of course with self-belay gear, from there via scree and through rocks and stuff to Brazza for refreshment. Really nice day, tour to lick fingers

If anyone at Pecol today upon seeing two buses felt a bad mood, it was completely unnecessary . 58 hikers from PD Medvode split quite soon into two teams, one visited Montaž, the other Špik hude police and Škrbina nad Tratico. For the second I can only pass on that they enjoyed the whole day, they had to wait a bit because they were faster, the first group also quickly split into four smaller ones. Over Planina, to the saddle to poke nose towards the depths of Sfonderata, then up Pipan ladder (interesting when 28 people climb it), to the top, then back to the junction for Leva path and along it to the notch above Cjanerico: 28 hikers naturally move a bit differently than one or two, but the team was good, all in full gear (of course mandatory equipment recommended!), without any problems, the leaders patient From the notch we returned to the parking via scree. Just mention the inappropriate overtaking by a three-member Austrian group, which could have ended badly. Since we were too slow for them, they overtook just above the notch on the right, the woman triggered a rock which luckily missed our three members in the chimney. Helmets wouldn't have helped here, Austrians sped ahead, but we overtook them before the hut, one was limping badly... The day was occasionally cloudy, summits covered with clouds in the afternoon, but we stayed dry and satisfied. In new PD shirts it looked like our police had a sports day...

It was a nice day, for me of course a bit strenuous, hands and knees today blue from too much leaning on scree and rocks. Guides as said and as always patient and caring, without them I certainly wouldn't have walked this path.

We too today head towards planina Pecol intending to climb Pipan ladder to the top of Montaž. On descent we bypassed the Pipan ladder on the left side as we thus avoided the crowd on the ladder itself. Path otherwise without peculiarities, annoying only the scree we trigger downhill with incautious walking, as it poured unpleasantly towards the valley several times. So no way without helmet!! We enjoyed beautiful views, and watched chamois, which were really plentiful in these parts, marmots somehow hid. Regards.

Well, with Viharnik we were today in home hills, it seems. To Jeterbenk I went to check my new gear for the mountains, it worked well . By the way, let me say that Polhograjci also fall under PD Medvode wings, so they are exemplarily marked, nowhere signs missing, even some extra nice ones, logbooks and stamps are there, your tired butts you can park on neat benches every third turn. NO, but that's not the topic. In Saturday's report I promised you under the handsome guy's pic (no.13) one or two more photos of chat with him. Well, tell me...

Very dependent on which route you take. In short, via Pečola past Pipanove ladders you don't need it, after the ladder it's highly recommended, on all other paths almost mandatory. LP B
