Has anyone been to Olševa in the last few days, have ice stalagmites formed at Potočka zijalka yet?

Today's Olševa had a bit of everything. From morning snowy sunny panorama to the front approaching from all sides. Summit briefly in the sun, then back through wind-blown snow. Exactly as the weather forecasters predicted.

From Spodnje Sleme towards Olševa. In the forest still somehow doable, on the ridge had to break trail seriously. From the top we also went to Sosednji vrh with the cross. Descent to the cave with beautiful standing dripstones and back along the tough road to the start (8km).

I thought you'd take your better half to see the stalagmites!?mežikanje

My wife and I drove the panoramic road from the start of Logar Valley the other day. From that side the road is gentler and we made it without chains. And great views along the way.

Bravo to both, that was quite a feat; road from Sv. Duh to Sleme, probably more than 8 km, I once measured over 10 km myself, so mileage wasn't trivial either.

Lower ridge-Olševa.

Nejc, Jan and I headed from the starting point to Govc. At the start there's still some snow, then it thins in the forest. Above tree line we put on snowshoes. Without them it'd be hard to move. On the ridge there is thick snow cover. Below Govc we took off snowshoes out of caution. That way we plunged our boots deeper into the snow. At the top we chatted and checked the surroundings. Return was much easier.

Yesterday on Olševa. From Spodnje Sleme to Lepi vrh, then over Gladki vrh to Govc and back the same way. In forest uphill mush tons deep. In two sheltered spots a bit on south snow. Just before ridge again few meters south snow, on ridge right - north side under snow, far left bare. Path to Govc snow-free. Warm weather, little wind on top, some visitors, views hazy. In short south side spring-like, north side still snowy.

Govc and Potocka zijavka last Sunday. Start and end of hike at Lintver under Sv. Duh church, great weather and path with superb views. After a really long time back in these parts I realized at day's end that I'll need to return and return. As soon as possible nasmeh

Foggy morning view didn't promise fulfilling the forecast and so it was when I got out of the car on the other end of Slovenia. Path on Austrian side toward Lipševa vrata was pretty wet, doors excellent. How come they only now? zavijanje z očmi
From doors continue on soggy trail to Obel kamen - knee-deep as they say. Where I should turn left up scree (pic 9), I go straight and reach viewpoint. I'd ask experts if one could continue from there. Few meters before viewpoint I climbed and looked over cliff, but due to branches wasn't sure if trail or path on other side. Anyway, back to scree and continued on very rugged path to Obel kamen and on to Govc, then past Potocka zijavka down to Sv. Duh.

On picture 9 there is a path that continues across the ridge to the other side and reaches the one that leads to Okna from our side. From that junction it's only a few dozen meters ahead to the left to our marked path towards the sinkhole. nasmeh

Garmont, I agree, at the same time I don't recommend because the terrain is poorly visible. You can stray into impassable terrain from which you'll hardly find an exit. Stick to the left on that scree. Last year it was sprayed with orange paint there. Maybe some stone turned and Palček plezalček didn't see the mark nasmeh
