I browsed through my GPS files and found these paths. The nearest crossing from this scree to our marked path is under 200m as the crow flies.
Path from Rogarja to gate, obel stone, ridge to Govc and then return past sinkhole to Rogarja.

Last meadow -Govca.

With Romana, Olševa tempted us, so we went to check it out. Nice weather and autumn temperatures kept us company, in our minds we already had winter landscape.

From foggy and rainy Polhograjsko hribovje to sunny Olševa. Start near Macesnik farm by the bridge. Up forest road to marked path. Past Potočka Zijalka to Olševa ridge. Continue ridge to Govc. Got a bit foggy and windy all the time. Continue ridge and descend almost to Zg.Sleme then above farms through forest and glades back to start. Even found two chanterelles by accident.

Olševa on a beautiful autumn day.

Path from lower sleme to Olševa bare to main ridge. On ridge can avoid snow at some spots already. Of course in a couple days whole path bare again. Descent to Kumru snowy over cold dol. Little above Lovska koča fallen mighty larch over path. (Needs chainsaw help). Continuation to Kumru without special features.

To Olševa from the last meadow

Today the whole path was dry, an obstacle on the path was still waiting. So I worked a bit on the way to Govec. The summit was in fog, so no rush. But I couldn't not go to the top. The landscape was totally different from ten days ago.

Remediation successful, no problems in winter

It's been a bit more than 10 years since I visited Olševa and my colleague and I couldn't have chosen a better day for the visit. Also quite a few years have passed since the last post about a hike up here, so maybe it's not superfluous to remind you of its beauties.... nasmeh

Right at the start there is an information board, and on the way to Potočka zijalka there are a few more

Nice view of part of KSA and the church of sv. Duha

and a close-up view of Velika Zelenica and in the background the peak of Veliki vrh

view from Velika Zelenica to Kočna as clear as on the palm of a hand

and the path leads us further towards Obel kamnu

in the distance the peaks of Košuta are revealed from Tolsta Košuta across Kušutnikov turn onwards....

mists are becoming more and more magical

on the right the peak of Storžič appears above the cloud

close-up - Storžič and in front of it Virnikov Grintavec

larches are already acquiring their yellowish colors

view towards Raduha (left), blurred Veliki planini in the middle and Rogatca and parts of the KSA ridge

and so I am already on the forepeak of Oblega kamna

one can see all the way to the snow-covered Austrian mountains

from here onwards along the ridge of Olševa to its highest peak - Govce

the path to Govce is more rocky and in places dilapidated

of all the flowers only the hairy gentian persists

and KSA; all sides of the sky are open to us..

we'll have to go back towards the starting point along the lower path

the path nicely crosses the slopes of Olševa

It's almost been a year since I was last up there. zavijanje z očmi

Up over Obel kamen and along the ridge to Govec, descent via the southern slopes.
Noticed that the path markers have newly marked and secured some parts of the path. Nice and especially praiseworthy. nasmeh

Lower down the larches are still yellow, higher up they have already shed their needles.

Yesterday morning on Olševa. From Slemen to Lepi and Gladki vrh, then on to Govec. Trail completely dry, here and there some snow patch visible. Beautiful day and views. Light cold wind on summit. Descent the same trail and since the day was beautiful, continuation to Bukovnik and to Raduha.

Lower ridge, Olševa

With Nejc and Jan, we snowshoed to Govec today. At the start there still wasn't much snow, then it increases quickly. So the first one had quite a bit of trouble. On the ridge most of the snow is blown away. Even today there was no escaping the north wind. We had some "chicken" ledges during the traverse under Govec. At moments we fought with a good meter of snow.

Today we repeated the path, Anja joined us. At the starting point, around 20 cm of dry snow. The temperature was not much below zero. On our feet snowshoes, in the backpack shears and saw. Before we plunged into the steep slope, we were already diligently clearing passages under fallen spruces. Quite a few fallen trees on the ground. We diligently "removed" them. Thick snow cover and obstacles tired us and delayed us time-wise. Along the Olševa ridge we admired large cornices, some of which slid into the valley. So we only went to "Kapšnica" - the saddle where the path forks to Kumru. Nice hike, work action and lots of laughs. So we can report that the path from lower Slemen to Olševa remains passable. Lp.

KUMER--OLŠEVA---KUMER

On a nice sunny day I went to check the path to Olševa. I wondered how much broken wood there was. Given the circumstances, I expected it to be bad. But in a few hours I managed to clear the path so that the summit is reachable without problems. The problem arises only from the cornices lurking above the path on Govec. Windblown snow up to two meters in places. Snow is hard to Foršnerce then it starts to sink, but it changes every few meters. Somewhere icy too. On sunny parts strong melt.

A motorcycle will be needed for this (with a fox tail I could spend the whole day here)

Above the trail there is fallen timber for 100 meters in length

Repair successful, there will be no thirst on the path

Another obstacle, which no longer exists.

For now it will do, the rest will be done by foresters.

A few days ago a colleague from Kranj called me if I was up for a tour and we agreed for yesterday. Only while packing things into the car did we decide where to go. Road to Sv. Duh quite drivable. Parked at Strevc tourist farm, young quadruped wouldn't leave us alone, soon both muddy to the waist. mrk pogled

Footprints that Ptuj guys made the day before, we reinforced a bit. Stanko, thanks to you both! At the border we left the track and turned to Lipševa vrata. Traverse zigzagged by fallen trees, bigger obstacle in dry conditions. So we reached the ridge higher, descent to windows steeper. Already from this side nice view through bare larch crowns to one window. We start viewing through this big window to the small one and then through the arch of the big one past the middle back. Wonderful, in winter experienced completely differently than in dry conditions. Ascent to Obel kamen took a lot of strength. Thick layer of dry snow on not fully hard base the reason. A little below summit also quite a bit of blown slab. Due to fatigue we abandoned continuing along the ridge to Govec and descended in nicer weather to Potočka zijalka. Saw a chamois herd too. Descent due to sun, south snow and very thick boot clumps that formed because of it quite difficult. There warming in sun rays and view on wonderful ice stalactites we took a deserved break. Then descent along the track to the car.

Hey, what are the conditions like on the path past Potočka zijalka? Is there a lot of (packed) snow for ascent without winter gear, or not? velik nasmeh

Hi!
On Sunday I went to Potočka zijalka! Road from Crna to Sv. Duha is super... path to Potočka is passable without winter gear (some snow patches here and there, you can easily bypass them), while from Potočka zijalka there was still quite some snow... recommend winter gear!
