No, all dry. But the path to Lipševa vrata is still closed. They were sawing quite a bit yesterday...

That path you want to take is the normal path to the summit...Govca. Go ahead boldly. nasmeh

There's a marked turn-off to Lipševa vrata from that path, but as I wrote above, the path to the Gates is still closed. mežikanje

Over the weekend, and for now until midweek, the path past Potočka zijalka to Olševa is closed due to logging and timber hauling.

Today out of curiosity about the path from the last meadow to Olševa, and as a bonus, I went along the trail to the logging road towards Kum. In Mrzli dol there's still some snow patches, but they'll be gone by the weekend. On the trail above the gorge, two logs lie across the path, a chainsaw will be needed.

My friend got me excited about Olševa last year when she talked about the path and showed me pictures, I immediately knew I'd have to drive to this part of Slovenia. I started in front of the tourist farm Strevc, where I also went upon return for excellent sour milk with žganci. First I went to Potočka zijalka, from there first to Obel kamen and then along the ridge to Olševa. Really wonderful path at this end of the Karavanke. If there wasn't so much driving on those bends over Jezersko and Pavličevo sedlo, I'd surely return to this place more often.

Yesterday, after more than three weeks of pain, back on a slightly longer hike to see the conditions, this time across Olševa.
We started at Strevc and headed towards Lipševa vrata. We continued on the Austrian side to Obel kamen, from there across the entire Olševa to the Sp. Sleme pass and back by road to Strevc. For the icing on the cake, we also jumped to the peč.
Once in between I sneezed and the pain returned, so I'm good for a while again, but it was worth it!
The path we took is without issues.

Olševa evaded us, but on Saturday it worked. Eighteen hikers, excellent guide, ideal weather, after rain. What beautiful nature, path, views. The drive via Kranjski rak to Solčava is twisty, but it's just part of the trip and worth visiting these places. We enjoyed the path with magnificent views of KSA from the east, on Peca, Raduha, Uršlja gora, towards Košuta and the Austrian side. The path is not difficult, but caution is needed. Finally we saw Potočka zijalka, which we learned about long ago...Now it's obviously mushroom time at 1,200 m and higher, there were many, unknown and known, almost all found some boletus. Coffee in Luče is top-notch, service too...exemplary in the mountaineers' village. Excellent tour.

Lower ridge - Govca

Wearing snowshoes, we set off along the well-snowed road. The track was still frozen. Two steep ascents follow. Then the world opens up, beautiful views all around. Wearing snowshoes we walked the ridge without problems. The base changes, hard-soft. For crossing under Govca we take off snowshoes. Here the sun has already hit the steep slope well. With some effort we finally plow to Govca. Descent via the southern base.

Snow is slowly departing, at the place where I intend to repair the mountain trail to Olševa this year. In late autumn I was active on the trail from Kumra to Olševa. Now at the location, babje riti. Three times this year I've already been at this location and dug around 200-250 meters of new path. The old one I provisionally fixed the year before last, already fed up, foresters came three times to sanitize windthrow, I behind them also every time to clean, also a bit dig the trail. So much that it was possible to walk. Of course I wasn't satisfied with that. Now I'm working on new and if the trail has "peace", it will hold decades. Of course I was on the trail only three days, I think somewhere after the tenth "shift" I'll be done. Lp.

Before the rain I managed to finish the mountain path to the so-called "babje riti". I hope you like the trail. Of course I plan to draw the markings too. Lp. J.
