And when Lojz (we know which one) devastated TNP and put up bivouacs as he pleased, that was all fine, Hypocrites like no other.

Everything scribbled, painted wherever you go... When someone fixes up degraded terrain, as good as new, then such a fuss Regards

@bbugari1 absolutely, I suggest we reinforce paths especially along riverbanks, city parks and lowlands with scree and logs Nobody (except you!) mentioned or advocated marking and creating new paths. This is about restoring an existing path instead of letting it decay. And if the (old) path is (newly) marked, people walk on it, not everywhere. If this difference isn't clear to you, debate over from my side.

Zavest and others have already written well. I was there last year and it really was walking on "marked pathless terrain" I like pathless terrain myself, but when you have someone with you who prefers marked paths, you choose a goal that should match the description. And based on what I saw on the ground, it's clear to me that it's routed a bit differently somewhere than before. The terrain has changed so that restoration in exactly the same place is impossible. Then bureaucracy comes in, which can drag on for years. Do you know how many paths we have closed for a decade because the existing one needs to be "deregistered" and a new one registered? Due to terrain change. As someone already wrote, goodness is an orphan... Janez did something socially useful in his free time... then the logs start raining...

Hi, I'm interested in conditions. Snow probably mostly gone. Path is easier, probably no special features.

The trail from Sleme to Olševa is completely dry. Sheep are already grazing too. A month ago I saw footprints-tracks similar to a wolf in the snow. LP. The trail from Govševa planina still has some snow patches in Mrzlem dol.

Although I went across Olševa at night, I was glad that the flood in Carinthia, as far as Olševa is concerned, from the direction Govševa planina, Govca, Sleme, at places where I renewed the mountain trail, didn't tear even a meter of trail. Stakes under the shelter are in excellent condition, also the widened path under Govec to the summit is in good condition. Every winter some meters of trail sink, I think in a year or two a landslide will carry it to the valley. Also the path to Sleme, dug two years ago (zig-zag), nicely serves its purpose. Path dug this year, as I dug it. The bad thing is that nettles and thistles have overgrown. Stakes here too are in place. Benches are in place. Finally, in jest, I'll mention the markings. They are as I made and drew them. (Spilled paint washed away too.) As one above wrote (probably meant I'd do marks with compressor). Negativists can go up to look and evaluate, while mowing tall grass they will do something for hiking folk too. Tracks I saw while working in snow from wolf later drove small livestock from pasture. Ungrazed ridge presents quite a nuisance with high wet grass. Lp.

How is access from the Solčava direction? Is the road passable for a passenger car? Thanks for the answers.

Yesterday I took time for daytime inspection of trail Sleme, Govca. When walking starts steeply, there is again some fallen wood on the path, best to go straight up the logging track to the saddle. It annoys me that some spruces have been lying there since winter. The bark beetle is happy about that. Near the springlet, the bark beetle is at work. But I was interested in the condition of the trail where I left some sweat. The dug trail holds excellently, no trace of eroding water. The downside is only overgrown nettles and some bushes. I pulled out a lot of that yesterday, I'll do the rest too. Also at the steps there is nothing to repair. Probably soon dry wood from the bark beetle will fall on the path. I'll add a coat to the benches. Then I'll sleep peacefully for a while. Higher up there are some trifles, best trimmed with string. Also the steps above Mrzli dol I swept, so they will nicely survive the winter. Under Govec on the side a small pile of landslide. To the summit some ideas-needs flashed, if there is time and weather I'll poke around more. Lp. JanezS

While I clean stakes, Romana waits and watches the surroundings. When we go along the Olševa ridge, she says the wind swayed pines and she saw a red sign in bushes. I tell her maybe the sign that I years ago, when setting the pole, searched for under snow too, later around the area, didn't find it. Now she finds it for me. The next day I went to fetch it. Since there was no wind assistance, I found it with difficulty. It was about 6 m from where the pole stood. I go to fetch it in pines and mount it. Wow, clamps don't fit. In the end, I celebrated victory. So ended my second workday on Olševa.

tulipan@ I believe you're not his lawyer and you master spelling too. After a comma there's no capital letter, unless it's direct speech, which is indicated differently.

And do you do cleaning in the mountains too? And on the road and at home? Stop tiring with nonsense. This is a mountain forum, not Fran.
