Yesterday was a pretty nice and calm day on Peca. I haven't experienced in winter that there was almost no wind on the top. The path from in front of the karavla is icy in places, but passable without problem. The bigger problem is the road, which is in very bad condition - at the sharpest and steepest bend we got stuck and right there found some spruce twigs on the road (obviously someone else had problems at the same spot), so we had to push a bit, further it went ok... Conditions will surely change completely already today.

I was up there on 31.1., it was a real winter fairy tale. On foot from Mušenik so no road problems but it was very icy from Pikovo to Mitnek, slippery like on ice. Road to Jakob completely snow-covered and icy. Path without major features to Mala Peca. Climbing path snowed in, waist-deep snow, not recommended unless early hour with ice axe, crampons. Other path trodden, last ascent only on Austrian side. On top beautiful view and dangerous wind. Nice tour for 7 hours walking.

Yesterday attempt on Kordeževa glava from Mušenik. Snow as much as you want. Shortly after the hut avalanche danger starts, knee-deep snow from the hut towards Mala Peca even more snow. Basically impassable. Variant only with snowshoes or drive higher and patiently tread slowly to the top, where cold wind surely awaits you.

Bravo and congrats, even though you smuggled with the gondola. Yeah, there's snow up there this year, last Monday I tried but no go, how it must be now when even three times more snow fell.

You're very wrong, my routes always start at the foot of the mountain, or I'd rather stay home. For success you need to have with you in these conditions, snowshoes or touring skis. Regards.

Today on Peca. The path is super trodden; yesterday hikers made a real highway so we didn't need even gaiters. On top foggy, almost no wind.

Better not go without skis or snowshoes, or you'll get stuck in the snow. There's horribly over two meters of snow and more. I doubt there's any track trodden, and if there is, it's probably in a ravine.

Does anyone have data on conditions on Peca? How much new snow? Is it trodden yet?

At the beginning of the week there was over 270 cm there, now I think it's already bare so no problem.

On Saturday at 5:40 we started from Mitnek towards the summit. On the shoulder backpack, skins and boots. Up to the road at Ninota hut we waded knee-deep. Above the hut someone had already broken trail before us from Mežiška end, so it was much easier after. Weather was crazy, can't imagine a better spent Saturday.

Road to Jakob is almost certainly not drivable, so choose another starting point.
