In the climbing section a large part of the path is rough and dry. In between there are parts with snow and ice.

Hello! One question. Is the path from Topla over the saddle to the top well marked? I'd go at night, so to be up by sunrise. I've never gone from Topla, that's why asking. I'm most concerned about the path start and lower part. Is it well marked or not? Thanks for info. Uros

If it's been trodden, it will be visible; in the snow, markings won't be very visible

The path from the parking lot is marked; above Topla, from the road to the left branches off an unmarked path to Knips saddle with a direction sign (Kneps). There are direction signs at key spots. During the day, the path can be followed, but at night I haven't walked it yet. This path to Peca is my favorite of all. But it is quite steep.

Thanks everyone for all the info. This weekend, as planned, won't happen due to the weather. Next time, when it's nicer and preferably daytime.

Hey, a couple of fresh pieces of info from today. As already written, some markings are visible at night too, as they are set as signs, and there are some marks on trees too, so keep your eyes peeled . Regarding the path itself, the first part through the forest is trodden and slippery in places. After exiting the forest, the path is covered in snow, partly frozen, with breakthroughs in places or deeper holes, so be careful. Towards the saddle today it wasn't trodden, so we waded through all sorts of snow (frozen, drifted, sinking to the knees or deeper in places). In short, crampons, maybe an ice axe too, and careful. And don't forget a spare light if setting off at night. Safe steps!

No big deal, there's beer on the mountain though . Buddy was our 9-year-old who has been grinding his knees for several years and the mentioned hill is no big problem for him. Otherwise, this path is really top for a quick leg stretch. 2 more from both peaks and artist in action :p

On Saturday they were driving towards Jakobe, so I think it's passable.

From Topla to Peca Zlatko, Zoki - hunting variants Foggy morning, clouds, sun. Before 7 we start the steep marked path to Knips saddle. Then turn right onto hunting variant. Wet roots from rain (slippery), brush sprays us, soon we are wet. Then turn left into cliffs above us. First gully to halfway with poles, then pack them in backpack. Westerly brings fog that surrounds us and hinders the view. We climb out of the cliff and first visit memorials. Summit in fog, we don't stay long. We find shelter from westerly and eat in peace. In fog we head to Knips saddle. At saddle sun on one side, fog on the other that wind carries. Follows descent spiced with hunting variant. Leads us perpendicular to marked (from hut). Sheep on pasture look at us surprised. Fine rain accompanies us to starting point. Beer cooled less than seven hours, pleasantly cold. Refresh soul and body . Clean shoes and return home. Rain stopped, sun! Nice trip we had. Snow no longer a problem. lp

Yes, I was surprised too when I saw it, but next time I'll take it to the valley. Interesting, my cans with gas and oil that I stored in autumn are gone, then snow fell and I didn't work any more.
