Today on Peca it was windy and sunny. Snow only occasionally a little on the path.

Today I went looking for sunshine to Peca and got endless fog . From Črna na Koroškem, precisely Mitnik to the hut on Peca, where snow also starts, but it's just a sample, walking is not obstructed. To the top of Peca I went on the path marked as "very demanding", but despite snow there were no problems. Gear was not needed. Of course, be careful due to slipping. When I joined the path leading to the top, which is a real highway, fog enveloped me and accompanied me all the way to the top, so I can't boast about today's views, although it looked better in the morning. I returned on the normal path and despite fog there were quite a few hikers whom wind and poor visibility also didn't deter from a day spent outside, somewhere higher

Today from Topla to Končnik vrh and Visoka glava. Very little snow, it's blown away, no cornices either, due to icy base small crampons sufficient.
Despite nice weather no sign of visitors on Kordževa glava.

By the way: does anyone from these parts know if the road from Solčava to Koprivna (between Raduha and Olševa) is passable in winter?

The road is always passable with winter gear, as farmers diligently plow it.

Yesterday's ascent from Podpeca past Dom pod Peco to Kordževa glava. The road is passable a bit higher than Stopar. On the path to the hut some snow, locally a bit icy. From the hut to the top quite some snow but the path well trodden. And some pics for illustration

As Rozka wrote, it was true, hut on Peca was open, as they celebrated New Year's Eve ... weather wonderful, quite a few hikers, conditions for ascent unique.
Today conditions probably completely different.

I was on Peca on Saturday, 15. 1. 2011. Route: Topla (Fajmut) - Knipsovo sedlo - Kordeževa glava - Dom na Peci - Topla. Path to Knipsovo sedlo almost entirely dry, towards saddle patches of snow and ice (shady spots). On saddle 0 to 20 cm snow. From saddle to Kordeževa glava almost not trodden. Shady slopes fully icy, walking without crampons or spikes difficult. From Kordeževa glava to Dom na Peci very trodden snowy path, locally quite icy. From Dom na Peci towards Topla initial path section quite icy, lower completely dry.

On Saturday 15.1. on Peca. Started at former customs house, snow starts a bit below Dom na Peci, path slightly icy all the way, so used crampons on descent. Otherwise nice sunny day, windy on top.

Sometimes it's nice not to be first somewhere, which was confirmed today with altitude ...despite from Mitnik to junction where Mežica path joins not trodden, there yippee, someone ahead pulled first track to top and the higher I was, the more grateful Snow all kinds, mainly dry, in forest on (sometimes) icy base, higher drifts sink to knees or more, sometimes windblown hard,...Today met only one hiker , though conditions and weather super, subtract minus temps and of course "my faithful" companion cold wind.
note today probably no tree I didn't photograph, hehehe

Super pics. It's a pleasure to look at them.
Peca is apparently always windy. Been up there 3x (admittedly in winter) and always caught fierce wind on top.

Yesterday it was nicely seen from Ojstrica and Košenjak how wind on Peca blows snow far around, really nice sight

Today from start Fajmut, January-like temps, parking empty. On top cloudy, foggy, and strong wind, visibility at least 15 m. Between hut and top, quite some icy sections.
