It's also hiked, though... in my opinion it's nicer via Kopinškova to Ojstrica and descent via Škarje - can also with a detour via Planjava

Midweek to the mountains - that's luxury, already due to the crowds at weekends which are quite big. After weekend picking St. John's wort on Čemšenika and Mrzlica, needed something more substantial. Planjava. Start at hikers' hut, past Klemenče , to Škarje, over Baba , Planjava, of course to saddle then down to Okrešelj, had to walk a few kms to car after. Pleasantly surprised by offer of ride, still good people, as long as legs go, thanks was the reply.
On conditions that day: hurricane wind gusts, edelweiss blooming fully on saddle and path down to Okrešelj with lots of scree on trail , as I recall my first ascent on this path to saddle it was much better.

@jprim, gosh I'm jealous to the sky and beyond. Tomorrow I'll look sadly towards Kamniks, won't see Triglav at all....and pity myself that I couldn't take off at least one day this week

We too mostly depend on weekends for ascents, this time managed to catch really great weather - except wind which made beautiful views.

This time chose Planjava. Path from Logarska dolina to Okrešelj walked x-times already, but each time like different, always surprises, and that rare beech forest scattered with big and small rocks... like silent watchers, some weird peace there, real mystery. Sky not friendly otherwise, lots of fog, no views, but no matter, had good time, path nice.

Turning point-Okrešelj-Planjava-Škarje-descent through Grlo:16.08.2012
Nice day, even nicer views, completely alone on the path, so I could listen to the mountain silence.
At the summit I turned, as always, to the western summit of Planjava.
On the way to Škarje I might mention that the trail is poorly marked, signs faded and for terrain newcomers there are definitely too few (at key spots).
Descent through Grlo on the old, unmarked path that gets lost here and there is strenuous, steep, lots of risk of slipping, slightly orientationally demanding. In fog and wetness absolutely unsuitable. Only experienced off-trailers should attempt it.

The only noteworthy summit of K.S. Alps missing from my collection was on the agenda yesterday. Weather, except for wind, rating 5. Path Logarska-Kamniško saddle-Planjava off-trail. At Kamniško saddle in the morning good tea, on return cold beer, Okrešelj pure sadness.

Today on Planjava through Repov kot and over Srebrno sedlo. In Repov kot morning sleet and cold like in Pont where Ovid is. Fog in the morning up to 1,800 or 1,900 m, afternoon warm sun even there.
From Srebrno sedlo to Planjava summit no snow on path. But some patches visible here and there.

On Friday 16th via Repov kot to Srebrno sedlo and under Planjava to Kamniško sedlo, Fog to cca 1500 m, then wonderful views and hot sun. On descent only two snowfields in passage under Planjava and on one more hidden part ice too, but no crampons needed, just lots of caution and recommend helmet, as lots of rocks falling.

Today to Planjava via Kamniško sedlo and back same way. Cloudy all the time, though morning sun peeked briefly. Strong wind at saddle, Brana in cloud, Planjava not yet. Ascent to Planjava without issues, but careful crossing snowfield as frozen and easy to slip. At later marked junction fog with wind crept in. Both increased to last junction and summit in fog, no views , but nice trip, just bit windy and foggy at top.

On Saturday via Repov kot to Planjava, then down to Kamniško sedlo, also to Brana and back via K. sedlo to the valley. Little snow. None in Repov kot, above Kamniško sedlo cross two snow tongues, for Brana recommend winter gear (especially if going marked path to end).
Pictures today so-so, but show conditions, happy trails.
