I'm curious about conditions around Porezen? We plan Saturday, how much snow, any chance of triggering avalanches on Vrše-Porezen route? Thanks!

In recent days 30-40 cm new snow fell in this area. I was there Saturday but from Davča. From Vrš side generally no issues as mostly road track, summit along ridge. Bigger issue slopes to Davča and esp south-Cerkno. But think hike this weekend, maybe check organizers. PD Cerkno

Yesterday traditional hike to Porezen. We set off from Podbrdo station. Coming out of forest to plateau greeted by gale where couldn't see 20m ahead.Talked to hikers who've done it 20x+, never such conditions.Snow in forest to knees, plateau frozen no sinking. Winter hike all around

hey, I would gladly go on a trip to Porezen from Davča, which I don't know yet. Today in Škofja Loka it says that the road Zali Log Davča is closed. Can someone help me how to get to the starting point (Cimprovka Alpa hunting hut) by another route or is it not worth driving so much and better go from Petrovo Brdo?

@link: You have two options. First one: continue from Škofja Loka along the Selška valley further to the junction for Petrovo Brdo or Sorica and a couple of km further towards Petrovo Brdo to the Zgaga farm. There go left very steeply up on asphalt. You arrive at the church in Davča, then descend into the Davča valley to the Urhova farm. From there you'll find your way, or you can leave the car there too. Second option: from Škofja Loka go along the Poljanska valley to Hotavlje. There turn right and follow the signs for Cerkno ski resort. This road eventually leads to Novake, where it joins the road from Cerkno to the ski resort, go up it, at the fork before the ski resort follow the road to the Brdo chairlift. This road leads to the pass, from where it descends towards Davča (actually the Brdo chairlift is already on the Davča side). From there you'll find your way. That's it, and if you're not sure, take a map with you... This route is nice anyway and if you haven't been there yet, definitely go. And I recommend the variant that crosses Cimprovka, not the lower one...

Was on Porezen on Sunday (no rain), then to Zakojca and back. On the way back discovered a nice path that goes from below Porezen and is wonderful. After 8 hours back to the goal

Only today I managed to carry out the plan to visit Porezen according to forum instructions. But I just wanted to say that if you turn at Zgag into the ravine, there's soon a junction where there's a "homemade" sign for Porezen to the right on a gravel road that leads practically to the chapel mentioned in the description Hunting Lodge - Porezen. Today I was completely alone on Porezen; only on descent did I meet the first hiker.

I'm interested in how to get from the Podbrdo train station to Porezen and how many hours of walking it is?
