I wouldn't want to show off knowledge, but anyway. The description under picture 17 is misleading. Dom Andreja Žvana-Borisa on Porezen is a former Italian border sentry post that has no connection to WWI. It was built due to the "consequences" of that war. It's an object at the former Rapallo border and was placed in the Alpine Wall (Italian Vallo Alpino), its "counterpart" was the so-called Rupnik Line.

From Petrov Brdo past Podhočar. A few cm of new snow only on the ridge. Otherwise no wind, no visitors either.

Nice greetings to everyone. Wondering if the hut on POREZEN is open on weekends. Also if the SPP stamp is in front of the hut or kept inside.

We used today's sunny day to visit Porezen. This time from Petrovo Brdo direction. At the start of the path there's quite some fallen trees but they don't hinder passage. Today we were too early as we made the first track ourselves. With snowshoes the path is much easier of course, since without them it sinks deeplyeek. But enough grit got us to the top. On the ridge snow is quite windblown so icy in places but still the path can be done without crampons. Warm sun heated nicely today but cold wind on top made us hurry back to the hut which diligent caretakers had just openedvelik nasmeh. They really gave us great shelter from wind and thanks for hospitality. Great daynasmeh

The path to Porezen can be spiced up with views of many attractions nearby. One of them are definitely the Davški waterfalls created by Davča stream. Also worth seeing is the former partisan war hospital Franja Hospital near Cerkno. More at: POREZEN
and: BAŠKA GRAPA

Yesterday was a nice day for the hills... so we went to Porezen. On the way from Davča to the top we met no one, on the top another 5 people, 3 of them skiers.
Right when the snow cover starts (actually already in Davča) it is quite thick and sinks deeply in places, so snowshoes would probably not be a bad idea. We were without and it went a bit slower.

And a warning for those planning to go from Davča soon. Road Zali log - Davča is closed, detour signs lead via Cerkno, which is quite far. So I recommend the same road via Železniki, in Zalem Logu straight to Petrovo Brdo, in Zgornja Sorica at the school or whatever (some big building) turn left and right after that onto gravel, which past Štulc also leads to Davča. Path about the same length or a km more than Zalo Log - Davča.

I'm not exactly from these areas that Trobec describes. But the path seems very strange to me.
I go to Davča via Škofja Loka along Poljanska valley to Cerkno ski slope (signs). From there follow signs to Davča. If I go via Selška valley past Zalega loga to Zgaga (group of houses below Petrovo Brdo), then turn left there.

enjanez, I think we describe the same thing. At that group of houses I really didn't check what is written on the house numbers, on the map it is Zgornja Sorica, next to it Zgagov potok.
Past the ski slope I think it is longer.

Ok, so there is no confusion... it is at Zgaga (that's the big building that seemed like a school to me mežikanje Zgornja Sorica was written on the map because a large part of that road (between the junction for Sorica and Zgaga) obviously falls under the Zgornja Sorica cadastral. But Zgaga is not a place nasmeh so it is not on googlemaps or najdi.si map (as an address of course), house numbers there are Davča 35 and Podporezen 1.
Well, ok, I hope the description is now clear enough and no one will get lost mežikanje
enjanez and tulipan, thanks for the note.
