One question
@janezs: were the chains - well crampons as you say, enough for safe ascent, well one had slightly different, I think pole-like similar to real crampons, since those have longer teeth, 6-point I think they are.

On Monday we two were already early in the morning in the first steep section above Koča Loka, put on crampons, I had 6-point Camp ones, to which I had welded two extra pieces and added two straps since without that addition they always slipped back when walking downhill otherwise. Friend had lescine chains, which also have teeth, how many? He would say more precisely. The path except that initial steep section wasn't icy and even there one could avoid crampons. On our long path every step without good grip was a pity. Also on the descent to Grohot, I would have gone without crampons then. With 6-point ones I don't trip as often as with 12-point ones (that applies when my mind is elsewhere), the 6 teeth stayed on my feet during a light run to Grohot. We took them off only on the dry road, no headache from whiskey. Lp

Today, Arlič's hike to Raduha took place. As expected, a procession from Loka to the summit. So we chose the circular path Vodule-Javorje-Konjska loka-Lanež-Mala Raduha-Raduha hut at Loka. As we noticed later, with a good car you can drive to the turnoff for the hut. Snow occasionally broke through but caused no major issues. Javorje and Lanež are dry. The path from Raduha to the hut was quite softened and muddy.

Today's traditional Arnič hike to Raduha was marked by nice weather and the least snow since I participate. From Luče to hut at Loka path practically snow-free, higher up not mentionable. For mention maybe just the tea at hut. Never drunk such bad anywhere.
A hike where there is never a crowd. Even if the weather is bad, there is enough space in the hut on Loki for all participants1

No problem, Ada. I drank even two cups of tea. On 16th picture you have 5 guys and can ask each about its taste.
Happy trails.

Maybe Lijaneja is right about tea. Namely, few huts can boast homemade picked tea jezik, which in taste, energy nutritional value and freshness is far better than filter bags or even modern teas from big boxes. They even offer artificial lemon flavor mrk pogled instead of a lemon slice. Good times are long gone zavijanje z očmi.

no hard feelings (it's funny to me too).
In these conditions, I don't know if tea still fits.

Does anyone have any info on conditions on the climbing route from Grohot to Raduha?
As for tea, on our Saturday descent from Raduha in that heat Radler suited us better; anyway, we had a good hour's walk ahead of us. velik nasmeh

Posting a few pics from 18.03.2012. Start at Radušnik farm past hut at Loki then to top of Velika Raduha. Snow towards top quite some, views from top almost none, descent needs some caution.

Bukovnik-Grohot via difficult to Raduha and over Durce back to Grohot
Parked before Bukovnik farm. Then road to hut in Grohot. Info: smoke from chimney... We continued the path in the direction of the difficult route to Raduha. It was quite strenuous, still much snow not bearing human weight and sinking up to waist. Cables in north wall dry, problem only icy rocks towards top of ridge, so greater caution needed. On top chamois and ptarmigans posed for us patiently waiting for snack. Returned over Durce- upper part almost no snow, lower still much- sinking. In my opinion this path currently more suitable for experienced mountaineers with winter gear.cool

Today went Grohot via difficult to Raduha and via Durce back to Grohot!
Still quite some snow, also sinking to waist! Part of cables still in snow, but no big problem. Back via Durce, again sinking, rocks everywhere, still quite some snow! nasmeh I think without winter gear, no go! At certain spots slip possible, so ice axe mandatory, in my opinion! cool
