Yes, yesterday morning it was already threatening from the sky so when I reach Grohot (from Bukovnik) I hurry on. The hut keeper, when I ask about the weather, says that when it's black over Peca something can happen on Raduha too. Of course, understandably, he can't say anything for sure. Higher up I head to the climbing path. The climbing path itself is of course nothing special for someone used to very demanding paths. Also free climbing (mainly before and after the first ladder) is more in the range of easier scrambling. On the ladders themselves the scariest detail is climbing up the left side of the gully over a really exposed rock then everything is easier. Currently, just because of snow, the exit from the gully to the right side is a bit harder. At the top two radio hams were "yelling". "SIKJU SOTA, SIKJU SOTA!", it was heard. Two alpinists also arrive up. Well, one of the radio hams was a bit familiar and we figure out it's the same one I met on Olševa (see my report there). With his buddy we chat a bit about mountain stuff. Before that with a couple we try to identify the peaks around us. Clouds were thickest right towards the main ridge of KSA, where only temporarily some known peak appeared most prominently Ojstrica. Grintavec should be visible but we could only imagine it. From Karavanke in the distance Košuta was visible in clouds, a bit better Obir best Peca. Over it was black the whole ascent. Then we say goodbye and I head towards Durci. I find the path although there's no sign at the start, the radio ham gave me some tips. At Durci I head towards Lanež. At Lanež I walk around a bit looking for the "real summit", stamp and book are on a rock in the middle of the clearing in a nicely shaped Aljaž tower. While searching like that I sense something in the bushes on the opposite side of the clearing. Yes from there a sheep is looking at me! No flock anywhere. When I approach it flees, sheep as sheep. At that moment from behind the bush cheerfully comes trotting - a lamb! Wow, how cute, I'd cuddle it! But before it reaches me mom rushes after it. This won't end well, I think. And I flee. Lamb behind me, mom behind it! When we run like this half a minute across the clearing, we finally stop. I try to approach again but the sheep glares at me angrily and I give up because maternal instinct would surely prevail over the sheep's timidity. Well, I sit by the "Aljaž" model and munch. Meanwhile it cleared and on the main ridge of KSA Grintavec appears in all its glory! I return to Durci, from there back to Grohot. On the way down I see two alpinists climbing the wall again, I watch them a bit then hurry to the hut. The path down is quite steep with lots of scree and need to be careful. The hut keeper says: "See, the weather held, and you too!" I order mushroom soup and beer and chat with the keeper. Then return towards Bukovnik and drive off.

Can Grintovec be seen from Lanež? From Raduha, I think not. If I'm not mistaken, it's hidden behind Skuta. Just curious, not disputing anything! Regards

I screenshot the panorama from peakfinder.org. There it's drawn as if visible from Raduha, but really as if it sticks out a bit from behind another mountain not named on panorama (probably Skuta). Due to clouds hard to say. For a while Turska gora was visible in that direction. Now I checked peakfinder for Lanež (which I didn't have screenshot). There Skuta really covers it and from this side it looks really pointy. Because of it I was 99% sure it's Grintavec. To add to confusion there are also Rinke. It happens often that we see two or three mountains together and hard to distinguish. Sorry!

Grintavec from the top of Raduha is visible roughly like this, from Lanež a bit less, but still visible. But the summit of Grintavec is hidden behind Skuta in both cases. Nice regards and safe steps from under beautiful Golte, Janez

Was up there Thursday afternoon. Nice tour, nice weather, summit was lonely only shortly before descending down sheep visit it. Climbing path is dry, on the way to protections need to cross one snow field where caution not superfluous. Then there's still (pic 55 from marked) big snow field which can be avoided right at the protections. Everything else snow-free and dry, same for descent via Durce.

The other snow field that Domch mentions is probably the one at the exit to the right from the gully. And now I also remembered that first snow field still before the first ladder. It's exposed but there are footprints and just carefully along them. But it's only max. 5 meters long Roughly like on JTrogar's picture it was visible then from Lanež when clouds dispersed. The peak - that would mislead many to Grintavec. Anyway I noticed that the debate about visible peaks was already on the seventh page of this thread.

Yesterday again to Raduha. This time it was just the starting station, because then I continued towards Loki and then across the entire Smrekovško pogorje and further towards Uršlja gora and over it back home. Already at 7 am there were quite a few cars at Spodnji Sleme and Bukovnik. Saw a couple preparing climbing gear, later when I was at Komna I heard helicopter and then learn there was rescue on Raduha. As for the climbing path no need to cross even a patch of snow, because both snow fields from last week gone, path dry even before 8 am and in excellent condition. At summit at 9am already quite some people ahead of me still 11 hours walk home.

Hello, today I was on Velika Raduha and at the summit experienced an unpleasant surprise, as there was no stamp. Grohat hut keeper said someone must have taken it today. Really don't understand how someone can be so primitive!

Yesterday we did a slightly longer little trip to Raduha. We started at Bukovnik via the climbing wall to the top of Raduha. After a slightly longer break we descended to planina Arta and checked out Snežna Jama (excellent cave, worth seeing), from there to the hut on Loki then to Durce and back to Bukovnik. Path was excellent, sunny weather, views could have been better. Climbing path is in good condition and nice trip for gaining experience.
