This weekend I walked the path from Planina Kosmačeva Rastka over the hut on Loki to the summit and back. Perfect early summer hike, worth 10/10!

The path wasn't muddy at all and was cleared, without a single obstacle (no fallen trees or branches or similar). Forest nice, despite visible windstorm consequences in places. It surprised me that there weren't more flowers - maybe because snow melted later?

Anyway great! And the length was just right for the first hike this year.

Somewhere up there I left a blue Buff band, I'd gladly take it back, in "exchange" refund the postage money to the finder, symbolic reward transfer to Botrstvo. nasmeh
If someone found the band but won't return it, let them do the Botrstvo transfer...

On the ascent from Grohot towards Durci there's a damaged ladder and another part a bit higher. Otherwise the path is without issues.

Yesterday, 15.7.2019 I did my third stage of Slovenian Mountain Trail. Uncle Franc joined me on the way. We started at Križan below Uršlja gora at 5am when it was just dawning. At the beginning an hour walk on gravel road to Andrejev dom on Slemen. We expected it closed, and it was. But we didn't expect no SPP stamp available. I checked the whole hut area, no stamp anywhere. For me no problem to get it, from Koroška I can drive easily, but for someone from farther places big minus.
Continued to Dom na Smrekovcu, arrived after a bit over 2 hours on very nice path. Time for first sandwich and beer, hut nicely arranged, hostess very friendly. After break short ascent to Smrekovec ridge and on under Krnes to interesting peak Komen. Path to there very nice and passed quickly. To Koča na Travniku path dragged a bit, met first hiker/mushroom picker there. Stamp and pad in front of hut, open only weekends. After small refreshment headed to Koča na Loki. On varied path over planina Vodole no issues, arrived at Loki shortly after 13.00. Time for lunch (very good ričet) and refresh (beer nasmeh). Again very friendly hostess.
After break headed towards Raduha. Sign at hut says 1h30 to summit, but 100m higher says 1h50. Maybe another path or marker error. Needs fixing anyway. To summit in moderate pace and light rain took 1h30. Met two families and about 200 sheep on the way. Summit decent view for cloudy day and stamp in bad condition. Then to Durci, headed north to Grohot. Right below Durci path needs renewal, but at scree becomes normal and so to Koča v Grohotu. There note on door "Coming right away", but at 17.00 couldn't wait not knowing when. Wanted only to stamp, no stamp anywhere again, same as morning at Slemen.
Only descent to Rogovilc in Savinja valley left, didn't know it's so "destructive". At start slight descent, mostly crossing slopes under Raduha walls. After about hour very steep descent starts, doesn't let up to valley. And steeper, especially past Tolstovršnik farm. Path well marked but poorly trodden, as (assume) mostly used by SPP walkers. Arrived valley shortly after 19.00, transport home waiting. Of course stopped for earned beer at Gostilna pod Iglo, legs really suffered on last descent, then picked up car at Križan and home.
It was a very nice and strenuous tour behind us and hats off to anyone who reads all I wrote.

Yesterday I walked the circular path from planina Arta along the ridge to Velika and Mala Raduha, descended to Durce and continued to Lanež. After a short break I continued the path to the last peak in the Raduha ridge - Jelovec. This path is unmarked, poorly trodden and now quite overgrown, sometimes feels unpleasant. On top aluminum cross (2018). Back the same way then to planina Javorje, from there to Loko for earned hop juice.
On the way home detoured to Travnik, treated myself with blueberries, climbed to the viewpoint tower, hut was closed.

This Saturday, which was definitely one of the most beautiful all year, we decided to climb Velika Raduha. After two hours of driving we parked below Koča na Loki hut and ascended to the top. Almost all corners of Slovenia were visible: from Trdinov vrh and Snežnik in the south to Triglav in the west, plus a large part of Austria. We continued the path to Durce and climbed to Lanež, from there directly to Loka. It was truly a magnificent day to conquer this very distant mountain for me.smile

Three mountain flowers didn't want to miss the ceremony for including Luče in the mountaineering village. We took our time and first looked around the nicely arranged Luče, flowers everywhere. This Sunday the enthusiastic locals allowed us access to Snežna jama and viewing its beauties. Members of the Črni galeb Caving Club from Prebold (50 years of operation), who maintain the cave, prepared a program, unveiling of a memorial plaque and explained the history and features of the cave. It's the highest-lying tourist cave in Slovenia, special because it's a dripstone cave at this altitude (1,500 m). In the cave they found cave bear, shark teeth...
After the cave tour we walked to planina Arta and on to Koča na Loki. The path was quite slippery today, otherwise no problems, in company of locals and representatives from abroad. Luče people were excellent hosts, we wish them success in new projects. On the way back it cleared up, Rogatec, Menina planina appeared...We saw some morels and quite a lot of chanterelles, never so many together...

Yesterday was a beautiful day for climbing Raduha. The morning was fairytale-like. Blue sky, clear views far around, fresh air. The mountain was quite visited. We extended the path with ascent to Lanež. Beautiful circular path.

Today on Raduha via Jelovec 1845m and Lanež 1925m. Start at pl. Vodole and on to Jelovec - Lanež - Velika Raduha - descent to pl. Arta - crossing pl. Loka - pl. Javorje and back to Vodole. Good sixteen km. From fog to sun and back. In the dense fog belt between 1400 and 1600 it was real winter, temperatures between zero and minus two, in the open it was slightly thawing. Snow nowhere more than five cm, the higher I was, the less there was, warm. Road to Loka is in mediocre condition, better go slower, because sections are nicely done.

Today it was really beautiful, but only above 1700 m, at least in our parts. We also did one loop around Raduha. Kosmačeve Rastke-Loka-Radhuha summit-Lanež-Loka-K.Rastke. From Durce onwards via Lanež to Konjska Loka and a bit towards Jelovec we followed only one set of footprints, so they were yours Zoran. Nice route you did.

A day worth taking leave. big
Start at Vodole and via planina Javorje to Lanež. Snow started only at the saddle below Lanež, but from there plenty to wade through.wink Except surprised chamois, no one walked here.
From Lanež to Raduha completely different story. Track? What track... highway. wink Summit super conditions.smile
Descent to Loka. Below snow line mud and mud again.angry Return via Javorje to Vodole was balm for eyes and feet. Really beautiful area. smile

Hello,
on Sunday 29.12. we plan to go to Raduha, wondering if anyone was up there recently and knows the conditions, at least approximately. We intend to go from Koča na Loki. What's the avalanche danger like?
Thanks for replies and best regards!
