All you need is an ice axe and gaiters just in case and poles are welcome

Hello! Does anyone know by chance what the conditions are on the path from Grohata via the secured path to the top? Is winter gear still needed? Best regards

I was there 9 days ago, and some hikers from that direction said it's still very snowy.

This is a pic from yesterday. Dunno if it helps, it's poorly visible. Zoom in, some patches are still there, and in the gullies it's still hiding some. From afar not much is visible anymore. Regards

Thanks everyone for the answers. This week due to the temperatures it will probably melt a lot, so we'll try over the weekend via the climbing route. Then I'll report on the conditions. Best regards

Hi everyone, can maybe someone tell how the path from the hut below Raduha to the summit is? Is it already nicely dry? Is it very muddy?

On Saturday there was quite a lot of snow towards the summit, lower down quite muddy (from the hut at Loka). Towards Grohat, there was snow on Durce and a bit lower, which doesn't cause problems anywhere. lp

The huts at Loka and Grohat are already open.

For those who were up there, how is the road to the starting point for Planina Loka. Is it normally drivable for a slightly larger caravan or will there be a problem? @garmont, were there any serious snow patches on the way to the summit or can they be normally bypassed? Thanks

The road to Loka is normally drivable. True, it's a bit torn up, but even with a normal car it goes fine. No problems with snow from that side.

Yesterday I was on Raduha. Started from Bukovnik via the climbing path, descended to the valley via Durce. On the climbing path there are four dangerous snow fields that cross the path on the steep slope. Until they melt I don't recommend this path! It's dangerous. The path via Durce to the valley was without issues.

Thanks to both. We then postponed the thing for a while due to other obligations, but the info will still come in handy

on Saturday after Olševa a quick jump to Raduha. From Olševa I saw some snow patches so I saved the secured path for another time. From the junction to Bukovnik and along the road to Grohat and over Durc to Raduha. On the way met GRS Koroška who had a rescue exercise on the wall of Mala Raduha. The path over Durc is full of stones, also the worked path is damaged so caution is advised. Snow patches on this path have melted. At the summit quite crowded, lots of annoying flies. Light wind. Descent the same way back.
