After last year's absence, yesterday I participated in the 29th winter Arnič hike to Raduha. As (almost) always, this hike means something to me, to start already from Luče. Due to the snow-free road, many drove almost to the doorstep of the mountain hut. Weather forecast was nicer than actual, warm and sunny at the right time - when we were at the top. Visibility was super and we jointly identified peaks on the horizon. Traditional hikes are fading for some years and I'm really glad this one has such a long beard. Worries me the youth participation, as I was among the younger participants
In the hut, nicely taken care of the warm stove, game goulash was a pure ten. On the return, Darko and I grazed on nature's gifts, home just before dark.
Next year the jubilee - 30th hike.

Drago, I still can't imagine where that would go. Haven't done the Mrzla - Krnička -(Matkova kopa) connection either.

I usually go on this variant marked on your picture.
Of course not in such conditions.

27.3.2019 Luče - Raduha (past the hut on Loki)
Yesterday excellently walked path, almost no wind from hut on Loki then another story starts and trail breaking, somewhere between 30 and 40 cm of newly fallen snow, strongly sinking and will in coming days, so going alone from this direction not really recommended. Raduha from Rogovilc (13.04.19)
To Planina Arte or even above to 1800m without issues. Issue was from here on, that I put on gaiters. Weather not bad except top thick fog cloud. Fresh snow from previous days max 15 cm, sinking mainly due to old crusty. Where is 50cm+ above 1900m that ARSO said in KSA. Descent via ascent route.

Hi,
tomorrow we plan to climb Raduha via SW ridge.
Has anyone been there these days? Or maybe anyone at all, what are the conditions like in general - where does the snow start for Raduha? Thanks in advance. LP, Zdenka

Hey,
just letting you know about the conditions. The SW ridge of Raduha was bare almost to the top of the ridge on Saturday, 20. 4., and where it joins the marked alpine path from Pl. Arta to Raduha - in that last part you step on snow a few times (on Saturday crusty). From the junction with the marked path to the top of Raduha there was still quite some snow on Saturday, but very crusty, wet. Snow is also melting very fast in general.
