Left the car in Prtovč, where low cloud, 100 meters above the village winter fairy tale starts. Over Razor good track, over Povden think no one went. Few people today, but some tourers left nice tracks below the summit, dry snow 10-40cm new I'd say and sorry skis stayed home. Summit strong north wind soon freezes us, fast descent like skiing straight down. Lower no wind, turn left to hunting hut where track made too. Carpe Diem nasmeh

Today after long months back on Ratitovec. Path over Razor really pleasant today. Nicely trodden no ice, crampons stayed in pack. At summit it blew annoyingly so quick to hut for tea and chill velik nasmeh

. Quite a crowd, tons of skiers. In front of hut like ski resort nasmeh

GregorC thanks for conditions report, made our choice easier today. Path over Razor real winter treat esp downhill like lightning. jezik

No new snow since yesterday no problem, plenty old. Many ski tourers today. Road to Prtovč well kept sanded to top no issues but little snow on road.

Was up yesterday too cuz in that weather can't stay home. Super again. Downhill really flies. Though always a bit envious of skiers watching during descent.

When the weather settles, I'd go check out Ratitovec (first time). I'd pick a longer route, wondering if anyone knows how the one from Bohinjsko sedlo (i.e. Soriska planina) holds up in winter? Looks nice from pics, not avalanche-prone, scenic. Am I wrong? What about orientation, how trodden, is it crowded enough?

The path from Soriska planina (Boh. sedlo) is popular in winter mainly among ski tourers and snowshoers. Orientation shouldn't be a problem. But for hikers, I don't know. Especially this year with some snow again, it could be quite challenging.

As gmirko says. Once out of the fog, the real winter fairytale began.
Ratitovec was very crowded today too, so path trodden, ski tracks made... Anyway conditions ideal. No ice today either.

Is the path over Poden trodden too? Planning circular tomorrow up over Poden and back over Razor. Regards

From Prtovc over Razor to Krekova hut (flankers) and on to Altemaver. Cold, foggy and windy, but still interesting. Back past the hunting hut too.

that's all there is as far as the sun is concerned

My contribution from nice Saturday. Ascent on skis from Dašnica, over Jesenovec and Klom to summit. Skiing through Razor, lower on hayfields all to bottom. Excellent conditions all time and nice weather. Regards

Sometimes it's good not to be too eager for early rising. Morning hikers already returning when I slowly start at Prtovc. All around thick fog with light snowfall. Hikers I met were as nicely decorated with rime as trees along path nasmeh

Hoped for sun at Ratitovec, but no. Well after good half hour fog started breaking and blue sky appeared jezik

So I got it after all. Little walk around, then quick descent back to valley. Path over Razor nicely trodden and smoothed a bit, so down it flew.
Nice as always mežikanje

The blue of the sky attracted some hikers from the hut

Nice weather forecast convinced me to take granddaughter to Ratitovec in snowy conditions. We went from Prtovc over Razor to Krekova hut for obligatory flankers and tea. After short chat with nice hiker to Gladki vrh. To Altemaver a bit too little trodden. Returned same way, just detoured past hunting hut. Cold, but sun and little wind made trip pleasant. As usual plenty hikers around here.
