Today a real "easy" trip to Ratitovec. Start from Prtovč, up to Razor, down to Povden. The path without special features, just a bit muddy in a few places. The views weren't anything special either... But, as said, nice trip if you want to stretch your legs a bit and you're not up for long hikes. It doesn't bother us, but obviously at least on weekends it's not for those who like solitude....

Povden is the colloquial variant, the grammatical one is Poden.

I thought it was the other way around, but I never delved into it. Because of the beauty from Poden onwards this path is one of the most beautiful to Ratitovec for me.

Have you ever gone from Soriska planina to Ratitovec? It's really beautiful!
Or from Sorica through villages Zg. Danje, Zabrdo and Torka, then join the one from Poden up. Back to Soriska and descend to Sorica.
In these places there are more of these "colloquial variants", e.g. village Danje (Zg. or Sp.)- you won't hear Danje here, colloquially among locals they are Dajne.

Hello! Today we were on Ratitovec from Soriška peč, start from Železniki direction a bit before big parking on Soriska planina. To the hut on Ratitovec we took 3hrs. Path is nice and very scenic, in 1hr through forest to ridge, then pure enjoyment. I think it's one of nicer accesses. Safe trails!!!

Hello! From Železniki direction drive to Petrovovo brdo (marked, road thru Sorica closed), sharp right here (to Bohinj). Road above Sp. and Zg.Sorica climbs a while. When see cross (shrine) by road, sign for Ratitovec on right. Today foresters had lots of wood there. If reach big parking on Soriska planina too far (turn back bit!). From Boh.Bistrica direction past Sor.planina a bit to this start. Path marked and well signposted.

from Danje and Torka I have gone, from Soriska really not yet. But dialects of these parts are somewhat known to me. Will soon go on one of paths to Ratitovec.

Path from Soriska planina is also part of Ratitovec Circuit, which besides includes hills around Soriska planina (Šavnik, Možic, Slatnik, Dravh and Lajnar), Kosmati vrh and Ratitovec pastures Pečano and Klom.
Description of entire Circuit (with path Soriska planina-Ratitovec) + map on PD Železniki website... http://www.pd-zelezniki.com/ (tab circuit Ratitovec).
