Today it was blowing very strongly. Access via Povden is impossible. Via Razor it sinks heavily in places because the wind has drifted snow.

A beautiful morning promised a nice day, so we decided for Ratitovec. Starting point in Prtovč via the path through Razor. Path hard, frozen at the start until there is no snow, sometimes pure ice. When the snow starts it is first hard, later brittle. (recommend crampons downhill). Almost to the top calm, at the hut and further to Altemaver quite windy.

To the junction for Novak (5km from Rudno) it is surely drivable, further I don't know. In winter it is officially closed from there on.

Yesterday afternoon I headed to Ratitovec to catch the sunset. I came from the Bohinj side and parked about an hour's trudge below Planina Pečana (road relatively OK drivable). At the top just in time for observing vivid sunset colors and wide views from KSA to Julians.

Hi! Does anyone know the conditions after snowfall from Prtovč up? And which path is more recommended or also more trodden, if at all... via Poden or via Razor? Thanks and happy holidays too

25. and 26.12. on Ratitovec it was rain, not snow, so some snow only left in Razor, higher up almost none..for the Poden side I don't know..cheers

Via Razor winter variant - surely already trodden / at least partly. There are some "models" who go up every day.. Via Poden in snow conditions don't go.. Be careful (if fresh snow - dunno) when crossing slopes (forest gullies), stuff can slide down there too - and last ascent from Razor till you see the hut..

Hey that's how it was today, from Bohinj side like always this winter snow even two-day stronger rain doesn't chase away. On this side 1-5 cm new snow.'Fun' skiing, son with board, me with skis, day even nicer, happy holidays.

Also from Soriska planina path ok. We trod it well for you, but think tomorrow it won't count. Weather not peak but fitted well...
