If the old path is really still in such good condition, it could be rearranged into a descent path or it would also serve those who can't manage the newly built via ferrata or those who are so bothered by this new via ferrata. mežikanje

For the latter I'm sure they'll definitely go climbing on it... velik nasmeh

I like choosing different paths, so today I headed to Razor from Vršič road, namely from the "road workers' hut" in Mlinarica and onwards to the saddle between Planja and Razor. From the saddle I go along the marked path towards the summit. At the "hole" there's the first dangerous passage under the rockfall, just a few 10 meters further is the area under the somewhat older southeast rockfall from a few years ago, higher up you have to pass under the old rockfall once more, then a Stop on the path stops me, but the marks direct me to the right and upwards. After a few meters I'm under the wall, chimney, or whatever. Over the cables I'm there in less than two minutes, at the top there's fog, so I just sign and go back down the old path, of course through all the spots where rockfalls block the path, of course at my own risk. Luckily nothing fell down, how it goes further we'll see. When I reached Planja saddle, Razor showed itself in all its splendor and power. I descended back to Mlinarica, then along the path towards Vršič, but I didn't go to the end, instead I turned down earlier to Kranjska planina, along a nice trail to the Vršič road at the 29th bend and good two km to the car waiting for me at the road workers' hut.
Oh, this new path you're writing about, which you haven't even seen yet, is nothing special at all, there are quite a few such sections on our secured paths and even harder ones, actually not worth mentioning at all. Crossings under rockfalls are objectively still dangerous and will remain so, so be careful, otherwise for that secured path section I also recommend SVK, especially for the less experienced.
Mlinarica and Razor1
into the west wall, where there is a masterfully secured path with fewer cables than under the summit2
before the hole one crosses scree, I expected an equipped path, but nothing of it3
was it really necessary to do this?4
when I came back down to the saddle, the fog even cleared5
below the path to Kranjska planina is already visible6
autumn is coming to the land7
at the 29th bend I reached the road8

Yesterday my colleague and I also decided to check how those few meters of the new path look, unlike Dejan we started from Vršič and descended to Zadnjica, I'd just add that the rockfall is quite active so gotta be quite early, because when the sun warmed up stuff was flying down, accordingly crampons and ice axe for crossing to the saddle between Planja and Razor.

For Saturday Razor was planned. Weather forecast wasn't great, reality even worse, whole way from Nova Gorica to Bovec drizzling or raining. Started thinking about plan B. Then at Bovec rain miraculously stops and road to Zadnjica practically dry. Start cloudy, but bluish gray above promised a lot. Just below lower lake I break above cloud cover and see deep blue sky us Primorska folks could only dream of lately. Practically no wind, heat almost summery. At Razor summit with light breeze 15C (sensor in shade). Path no issues, snow all gone. But all visitors expected snow judging by ice axes on packs. Met only three people near three chamois, surprisingly few given conditions. They were fantastic, views phenomenal, just Primorska hidden under cloud cream. Anyway day like rarely in year, really shame to miss. So unexpectedly nice vs forecast I left sunglasses in car, winter gear with me though…. Two words on new path section: short and demanding. More importantly want to point out huge pile of rocks right above ferrata exit that triggers at slightest carelessness. Now when Razor mostly empty risk of something on head small, peak season tho…
Yes, today will be a lucky day!1

Me too on Saturday on Razor and then on the slightly lower "brother"velik nasmeh. Started late, practically mid-morning from Vršič. Primorska side wrapped in fog that stuck with me most of south path to Razor from Vršič. Well, before entering Razor wall the fogs cleared and ahead pure autumn or summer fairytalenasmeh. Snow conditions changed a lot in one week, so crampons and ice axe stayed in pack. While climbing to Planja saddle two kilo rocks missed my head by a meter, so caution needed everywhere not just near landslide. Think we greeted at Planja saddle with mukica and her mate descending. Towards summit above new path really watch out due to loads of piled rocks. On top met user 5ro, exchanged few words, mainly time for enjoying great day and superb views. After long break time to descend. No interest going back same way, so decided to climb Prisojnik too. Time late, Jubilee path not that quick to endvelik nasmeh. North side some small patches soft snow bypassed carefully. At 17.30 on Prisojnik summit, bit tired ("high" temps did their thing). Stayed on top half hour photoing, then descend Grebenska path watching sunset. Back to Vršič in nice night vibe (great starry sky) satisfied with tournasmeh. Whole tour 9h30min, pure walking about 8h. Best!

Ah, where...zadrega With the IXUS, which has poor light strength, poor dynamic range, 3.8x optical zoom, it's hard to take such super photos. Everything really has to align or the light has to favor you a lot. But there are quite a few users on this portal for whom what you say holds true. I meant Matevž, Jošt, Franči, and probably someone else I forgot (sorryvelik nasmehzadrega)... We know who does above-average photos, rightmežikanje. Thanks!
