Mukica, we really met in that slippery gully above the cave, with urbancik at the top. Well, next time we'll talk more. Good luck!

Regarding the new route to Razor, it would be good if on all Razor route descriptions the pics from Planja saddle onwards are changed, and also the text description, so the existing one doesn't mislead those who don't know the change next season....

Congrats, you're good, nice description and good pics despite the fog. First time hearing about this approach, in the dry probably unfeasible??? or am I wrong...

Probably feasible, but quite difficult

Hello! Has anyone recently gone to Razor from Pogačnikov dom? I'm curious about the snow fields from Planja saddle to the summit? Thanks for the reply.

why not call the hut at Kriški podi? it's open, they surely know the conditions best, maybe someone from there has gone up?..

Snow fields are there. As for the hut, last year when there was a landslide they were already a week in the hut, and I informed them about it. Maybe this year it's a different team, and they are more up to date with conditions

At Kriški they say the path is passable, but you have to cross snow fields and winter gear is needed.

And probably it will be like that all summer in the Julijci, crossing smaller and larger snow fields, for which you'll need winter gear

This is how it was on Saturday towards Razor: the path to Pogačnikov dom from Zadnjica is now completely dry, towards Razor there are still some snow fields, some quite steep with exposed drop-offs, so ice axe is still obligatory (and many visitors didn't have it). The new via ferrata on Razor is in good condition, but I didn't dare climb it without a via ferrata set, the belly in the middle of the not so high wall is quite exposed. As seen from Pogačnikov dom, the access to Stenar is also quite snowy, to Pihavec the path is closed due to a large landslide. From Prisojnik side also several large and steep snow fields. In general, there's still huge amounts of snow in this part of Julijci, even most of lower Kriško lake is under snow.

The path from Pogačnik to Razor is now completely dry, we can bypass all snow fields without problem. The final ascent is really steep and I didn't regret dragging the ice axe with me. For comparison, no section of Hanzova to Mojstrovka seemed so demanding to me. For the ascent I hit a wonderful and not too hot day (which clouded a bit in the afternoon). Feeling and views from the top are awesome. On the access paths through Sovatna and over Luknja (via Gamsovec) full of ibex.

Greetings! I'm interested in the path from Vršič towards Razor? Are there still dangerous snow fields? Thanks and take care.

Yes, there still are. The snowfield is not at the place where the path leads to the Razor ridge or at the entrance to Razor's west wall. You need ice axe and crampons and experience, as the snowfield is very steep and cannot be bypassed. Just before Planja saddle there are two smaller snowfields, which can however be bypassed from below.

SunBurned - Describe on pic 2 where this climbing part goes?

Janez, that I couldn't tell you, I don't have such good sense of orientation. But it's directly under the summit, after it a couple easy scrambles and you're up.

I think it's behind the right edge (not visible in the pic).
