You need at least an ice axe from winter gear, there are still some snow patches and watch out for falling rocks. Or call the hut for more accurate info... hi

Since it's practically part of Razor - which approaches lead to Vrh žlebičev? Can you get there also via the scree between Razor and Indijanec?

From the students in the hut you'll have a hard time finding out anything . A week ago you urgently needed an ice axe a bit before the cave and above it another 5 meters ascent on snow. Probably already diminishing. good luck

To Vrh Žlebičev from the Šplevta (Indijanec) direction via scree is, in my opinion, a good III (haven't been yet), from the scree to the top of Razor a good II, if you find nice passages. (If you come across green tapes, you're on the right path. I placed them there many years ago). Good luck! There's still definitely snow and without an ice axe, no way!

I know. I always use mine; in the pic it's a friend who didn't heed the advice. Can't nail it to his head though.

Well, helmet's for the backpack anyway... so it doesn't tear on narrow passages and sliding on rock. Like motorcyclists, elbow more important than head... Nice tour otherwise.

Hi, tomorrow we plan to go to Razor, wonder if winter gear is currently mandatory? From last trip looks not needed but better confirm. Thanks

For path from Pogačnikov dom not needed. Last week still crossed one short unproblematic transverse snowfield, probably gone now.

You won't need winter technical gear anymore. Take long pants and a thermo jacket. Tomorrow at noon, only 2 degrees C at Razor height.

Yesterday on a reconnaissance tour for the camp. The plan was quite ambitious. Do a 2-day tour in one day. From Vrata past bivouac on Rušje and Rdeča škrbina to Dolkova špica, then past Križ to Kriške pode, Razor and descent over Sovatna. Better half and friend opted for more realistic variant. After all, needed to do recon for easier group at camp too Re Dolkova špica, up thru notch ok, for down recommend the flat path. Interesting, I signed book only as 34th this year, then met 4 more who went up (one before me). Aja, saddle to top not marked, cairns though. Descent other side nothing special. Then weather clouded a bit, very welcome for ascent to Razor. Towards Planja blowing quite a bit, summit calm. That new part one of the technically toughest among our ZZ paths. Very short otherwise (10m vert, total ~30m cables), SVK highly rec. Helmet needed way earlier. On descent to hut realize almost 2hrs ahead of time plan, but karma is b****... lost Swiss tee hanging from pack somewhere on path. Went back involuntarily whole way to Planja saddle. At least tee waiting, or it'd be for nothing. End all three down Sovatna after nearly 14hrs back at car. Total (w/ involuntary extra) 2900m gain, 11hrs walk, not bad vs marked "norm" 16-17hrs. (now Dejan will say just 6hr 2min 31s

And where did that trio cross to Rakova Špica? Just "straight across"? Dejan would need less time , only today more, because yesterday on return from Logarska dolina by bike home had headwind! Probably struggled quite a bit.

To me it looked like they went more or less right up the ridge. True, I didn't watch them much, as we were approx same speed and reached summit around same time. Maybe someone will chime in and say something.
