What about from Vršič to Razor via southern path, any problematic snowfield?

No snowfields on the southern path. In the western wall of Razor it's another question, to which I don't know the answer.

Yesterday from Razor to Prisojnik, didn't use winter gear, two snowfields can be avoided, two shorter snowfields no problem as snow was soft. On Jubilee path also avoidable or just short sections under snow. Maybe issues only early morning if night colder.

Hello, interested in how many hours of walking from Vršič to visit Razor and Prisojnik and which path is most suitable. As read no snowfield problem. Is path technically more demanding than Jalovec from Tamar or Škrlatica from Vrat. Regards

The last part to Razor is (much) more demanding than Jalovec or Škrlatica. Razor + Prisojnik from Vršič is a full-day tour over 2000m. By feel I would say about 14-15 hours of "marked" walking.

@xxxyx For the route from Vršič to Razor and back I (as an average hiker) with stops needed a little less than 10 hours. I measured 1550 m of elevation, (because the path doesn't go up all the time). Regarding technical difficulty compared to Jalovec or Škrlatica, it's as skiro123 wrote. The last part is quite challenging, but well protected. The path is marked all the way.

For the last part a via ferrata kit is recommended. Last year I met foreigners who didn't continue on this part.

In my opinion, the truth is in the middle: total elevation 1850 m, walking cca 12 hours.

I probably wrote it a bit awkwardly. So: I went only from Vršič to Razor and back and took a little less than ten hours... Without Prisojnik

Elevation gain from Vršič to Razor and back is 1800 vm. If you add Prisank (as xxxyx wrote), it's over 2000 vm, and at least two more hours of walking.

skiro: We agree on the hours. On elevation: Vršič (1600) - Sovna glava (1750; ascent 150) - descent to 1700 - Gladki rob (1870; ascent 170; cumulative 320) - descent to 1640 - Mlinarica - Planja (2350; ascent 710; cum. 1030) - Razor (2600; ascent 250; cum. 1280) - Planja - Mlinarica - Škrbina (1980) - Prisojnik (2550; ascent 570; cum. 1850) - Gladki rob - descent to 1700 - Sovna glava (1750; ascent 50; cum. 1900).

Very nice, congratulations. Just a couple of remarks: pictures are not in chronological order, fix text on picture 25 and on picture 27 I don't see the road workers' hut, isn't it much lower?

bbugari1 - Yeah left right, it happens - for the road workers' hut this picture is meant, speed kills anyway.

Hi, I plan to Razor from Prisank direction via Zadnje okno and Škrbina. What is the path like in this direction towards Razor? Especially interested in the "descent" from Prisank towards Razor. Is it adequately secured?

It's well protected, but not quite easy.

28/7/2020 - Razor (+ Prisojnik) Friend decided to hike SPP from Maribor to Debeleg Rtič without breaks in "classic style" and finished it on Saturday - 26 days. I decided to accompany her through the Julian Alps as long as time / strength / will. In the morning we got up not too early (because most have breakfast only at 7am???), fortified ourselves, loaded backpacks and headed to Razor. Some time in shade, higher towards saddle between Planja and Razor we were already in sun. Left backpacks by rock and jumped to Razor. Nothing special for her, but that climbing without self-belaying grounded me a bit. Well, we did it. Nice day, wonderful views, few people and we went on. We started descending towards Škrbina in rear Prisojnik. Worth mentioning path is very poorly marked or hasn't been remarked for long, so need to be quite attentive. At junction had to decide whether via Jubilejna or around Prisojnik to Vršič. We agreed Jubilejna without self-belaying with such backpack quite tough and rather continued on "easy" to Vršič. Super nice day with super nice sun scorching super nice grass and scree, no breath of wind. So I had no special desire for Prisojnik, she still jumped there via Slovenska. When I reached Ticarica at Vršič (second time) SV helicopter flew up. It chilled me. Turned out for younger mountaineer who got head injury from falling rocks. Hope soon all OK. And after few days finally you get high. Better than 100 joints.

Hi. With friend we'd go from Vršič to Razor. On way back combine path with visit to Prisojnik. Which path up Prisojnik and down best? Experience and fitness no problem. How scenic is this path? Or better to Razor from Vrata and there? Thanks and happy trails all

From Razor to Prisojnik most direct is Jubilejna path. But this path is CLOSED (active landslide in Zadnje okno). So from saddle Mlinarica descend to Slovenska path and up it to summit. For descent from Prisojnik can use scenic Grebenska path. To Razor also possible from Krnica over Kriška stena and same on over Prisojnik. Then from Vršič descend back to Krnica (walk or bus or hitch).
