Today I saw that my above entry about the Rinkas has massively broken the views record on my blog. So thanks to the commentators! mežikanje

Yesterday I did another nice loop in the Kamniks. I went via Žmavčarje, which path is getting nicer every time for me (someone nicely cut and cleared the fallen trees) and stopped at the new bivouac, where crap is already piling up. Higher up I used some snow patches that were just sufficiently thawed for access to the highest Rinka. The weather was pleasant, so I took my time for each one separately. If the snow had been hard, the first and only issue would have been a short steep snow tongue on the descent from Sleme. Since it has been at least a quarter century since my visit to Kogl, I also went up there. I continued past the bivouac under Grintovec to Kokrsko sedlo. On the descent to the car I met some runners training for the 18th Grinta run.

Ibex obviously didn't let itself be disturbed much. I bypassed it a bit higher. Otherwise nice pics.

What are the conditions like around here? How much snow left under the Rinkas? Anyone got a fresh pic?

On Sunday via Žmarvčarje to Kranjska Rinka via SW couloir.
Up to bivouac it was very foggy, visibility 5-10m, so orientation was tricky too. Snow fairly soft to end of forest, then hard all over the slope to bivouac and stayed hard afternoon too.
Snow compact on first two thirds of couloir (see pic below), last third fairly soft with 15-20cm sink. Last 10-15m height didn't take direct to summit but to ridge, then 20m more to top. Descended classic route.
note: Had shutter issues on camera, some pics a bit off.

Today we took advantage of the nice day in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps. We start below Rinka waterfall and already hurry towards Okrešelj where we take a short break and head towards Turski žleb. Steepness increases as well as height and after two and a half hours we are at the top of the gully. We turn towards the Rinke, which we conquer in order of their size, first Mala then Štajerska(ours) then to Koroška and finally to Kranjska. Then we are tempted to check out the new bivouac below Skuta, from the bivouac we also head to Turska gora and descend back to the valley through Turski žleb again. It was a nice day for relaxing body and soul. Conditions were good winter ones.

Today on Koroška Rinka with my brother. We ascended from Jezersko - through Žrelo and then via the normal route to the summit. Descent through Turski žleb and over Savinjsko sedlo back to Jezersko.

Original plan was Trojka route on Dolgi hrbet, but unfortunately too little snow, so we decided for Rinke. We left the ropes and all gear in the winter room at Ledine, which we maybe regretted a bit later.

Conditions excellent. Creaky snow from the valley all the way to the top! Maybe only the last 100m of elevation the snow wasn't fully settled. The path to Koroška Rinka itself is very demanding!!! Steep, airy and with some detail that gets you psyched. Especially the detail around the ledge, where for a moment the rope peeked out of the snow, but the snow itself was unsettled, so the ice axes didn't hold as you'd want. Due to the difficulty of the ascent, we then decided to descend through Turski žleb.

Pictures coming soon nasmeh

Bravo
I already talked about this months ago, that it's a very airy/difficult path to the top when I was alone. You wrote it nicely, good luck

Rinke aren't particularly popular peaks. At least judging by the age of the footprints in the snowfields. Today the snow is still holding, south-facing. Path over Žmavčarje ok - scree fields a bit tedious, unstable - compared to the path to Kokrško sedlo.
