I also visited Koroška Rinka that day. From Okrešelj first to Mrzla gora, then Koroška Rinka, Turska gora, Kotliči, Brana and back to Okrešelj. I also heeded the forecasted afternoon showers and was already heading back at 14:00. Hurricane winds blew over the summits, strongest at the top of Brana.

The desire for adrenaline took four mountaineers from PK Ivanec back to the Alps about ten days ago. Agreement in the evening hours, and in the morning off towards Slovenia, already a usual destination, towards the Kamnik-Savinja Alps. This time we chose two peaks, Koroška Rinka or Križ, height 2433m, and Turska gora height 2251m. We set off from Logarska dolina, via Okrešlja, towards Savinjsko sedlo, then turned towards Rinka and climbed via the col to the summit of Koroška Rinke or Križ. Further the path led us over Turska gora to Kamniško sedlo 1884m, from where the descent followed via Frischaufov dom 1396m back to Logarska dolina, and the way back to Zagorje. This weekend rainy weather spoiled our plans, but next weekend we hope for the Alps again. Such an achievement besides good fitness also requires proper gear. Next time you're in the mountains, it won't hurt if you all have protective helmets (helmets, hard hats) along with the other mandatory equipment. Safe travels in the mountains.

@čru Considering we've been mountaineering in your beautiful Alps for many years, where we've made a lot of friends among Slovenian mountaineers whom we particularly appreciate and with whom we gladly exchange experiences, we've all got all the necessary gear, including helmets, however precisely because of some "false" security we've gained from mountaineering sometimes the helmets stay in the backpack. That's simply not okay, and I absolutely agree with you that on such climbs all protective gear is needed. Thanks for the note, and likewise wish you and your team safe and sound in the mountains.

How demanding is the path to Koroška Rinka via the col past the window. I'm especially interested if there are any exposed spots with falling rock risk. I've already climbed a very demanding route, namely through Turski žleb, so I'm wondering how these two paths compare?

Urhh - risk of falling rocks on such terrain is always present, especially when hikers are in front of you. On Sunday my colleague and I went and two guys were ahead by some 10 meters and we heard falling stones. So, helmet highly recommended. As for comparing the gully and this "climbing" bit to Križ, it's all pretty similar. The gully is much shorter, but also way more annoying due to the upper scree. To Križ it's a nice secured path, no particular exposed spots. Always be cautious and alert everywhere! Stay safe wherever you go. LPS

Lisa-probably we hiked together for a while. We two were from Carinthia. Since we were in the wall before you, maybe a small stone really flew off, but not intentionally. The plan we had, we fully fulfilled. Best regards

Yeah, yeah... then really . You two could be heard . Of course I know it wasn't intentional... we two also triggered something, no doubt. Great that the plan was achieved. And the weather held out the whole day! Wishing you many more beautiful and safe paths ahead! best regards

hello! I'm interested if all those exposed ledges on the route from the hut at Ledine towards Koroške Rinke (Križ) are also secured with steel cables? Best regards

On Sunday we did a circular tour Ravenska Kočna-Češka hut-Mlinarsko sedlo-Dolgi hrbet-Skuta-Koroška Rinka-Ledine-Ravenska Kočna. For us so far the most demanding tour, as it requires a lot of climbing. Only one thing bothered us - on the descent from Skuta the paths to Rinke are very poorly marked. The signs show paths to Skuta, Cojzova hut, Turski žleb, Turska gora and Kamniško sedlo, no trace of Rinke. On the ascent towards Rinke we luckily spotted the direction to Koroška Rinka or Križ on some rock by chance, so we didn't stray from the intended path. The descent from Koroška Rinka will surely remain in our memory - veeery adrenaline-pumping.

Today was an ideal day for the Rinke. Started from the cable car along the Slovenian route to Ledine, to acclimatize to the steel cables right away. At the hut on Ledine for tea with the friendly hutkeeper, then onwards to the saddle. Below the saddle then right into the Rinke cliffs. There I met a companion, with whom I got along well and together we made a nice tour. The path is demanding, well protected, steel cables are plentiful. After about four hours from the Ledine hut we were at the summit. All the effort is rewarded with wonderful views of the surrounding peaks, which are endless. Then another half-hour hike to Kranjska Rinka. We descend down the right side and continue a short ascent to the neighbor. We have to return the same way back to the summit and same way to Ledine. From Ledine then descent via Žrle, this year for a change no snow and visit to Češka hut and down to the valley. Descent from Koroška Rinka or Križ is very demanding, because the path is full of scree, we must be careful not to trigger stones. Helmet use obligatory. The tour wasn't too hot, because ascent and descent in the shade. The mountain had quite some visitors from all directions.

I think this is Scottish cattle in the first picture... In the fog this tour didn't seem anything special to me If I understood correctly you hiked up from Ledine for 4 hours? I don't know if that's right because it seems a bit too much to me... Or you went so enjoyably and slowly hehe... The day was certainly right for views... Best regards!

My dear Urbanček, check the norms and you'll see it's not too long at all. Safety first above all. But you also need to take some pictures, look at some flowers. Check the pictures from my tours under Forum under other under Which flower is that and you'll see why some tour takes an hour longer. Anyway, let the recent mountain accidents be a warning to us all. Why do you think they happened?

Today a little change to KSA. In the morning started from Jermanca to Kamniško sedlo, then to Brana, where it was really windy, over Kotliče to Turska gora and to Mala, Štajerska, Koroška and Kranjska Rinka. Descent past the bivouac below Skuta and over Žmavčarje to the cargo cable car and still a walk back to the car. Quite some people, sun all the time, wind didn't spoil the mood either.
