Very nice. This is also one of my nicer paths. Searching passages, observing cows and chamois, adds a bit of spice to the path. Safe step.

Nice, nothing to say! I'm always interested to see from pics where people go on that pathless part to reach the bomber remains. I too chose "innovative" path towards Temen, stepping directly in front of the wreckage when coming out of the scrub. True, the path in that valley under Pršivec is where each sees it As you wrote, many paths, just turn towards Rjavina And safe steps further, LP, Ben

Thanks for such a nice response, it tells me it's worth posting again... Uroš, it seems to me like a historical curiosity, bothers no one, on display only for the few who go there. Ben, you're absolutely right... also the increase in cairns has been much greater lately Happy trails!

Yesterday, 22.7. we took advantage of the weather and visited Rjavina. First visit for all three. Now I understand why they call her, besides Škrlatica, queen among mountains. Beautiful and just demanding enough. Ascent via climbing path from Kot, to Staničev dom, descent into other valley via Tominškova. Excellent tour.

Yesterday club trip to Rjavina. From Kot up, descent along ridge past Staničeva hut. Nothing special, company super, sunny hot weather but every now and then some cloud refreshed a bit. Views excellent. p.s. Valerija, did you find the car right away?

@UROS1, to me, that bomber remnant seems something special. Like a monument to historical events or a live museum.

Yesterday afternoon: from Krma to Rjavina via Teme and back via Apnenica. Up past hunter's hut then along Kravja valley almost to end, then left (some small scrub). If going again, would go even further to end, then left a bit down and up to remains of American military plane. From Liberator continued on path to passage towards Temen. From afar passage looks quite demanding, closer it proves elegant shelf. To summit mostly steep grass, no snow, which melted completely also on path to Dovška vrata, where due to late start I arrived in dusk. Continued past Prgarce to car in Krma. The sight of plane remains that crashed into mountain in March 1945 really shook me. Most wreckage carried away in seven decades of course, remaining parts someone piled around big rock. For eight guys who left lives here, probably only memorial. But in times when many seem preparing ground for new world war horrors, every reminder is very important! Kot Valley - Rjavina (climbing path), the other is ridge... that's the path title on this site so I stuck to it to avoid confusion

Yesterday 12.6. from Kot via climbing to Rjavina. To the valley tractor forest road suitable for high-clearance vehicles. At the spring first snowfield that will persist until Stanič and further some time. Winter gear necessary. Climbing section wintered well, except cable of first "nasty" traverse tensioned by chipped flake. Experts should tell where pitons are all hammered in. Wall and summit dry. On return noticed loose path above spring, attention as no cable right there.

It wasn't that early when we started. At 5 we parked in Krma; along the ruined and icy road we drove to the end of the path. We head towards Kredarica. Like everyone else, but not for long. Above Prgarca we turn right towards Rjavina. We walk under the slope of Rž. The snow was already wet, heavy; you sank in every single step. But from trudging, the heat and the wind that took the day off became worse. We continue towards the gully. Below the gully, avalanche debris awaits us, a day or two old. Over the packed debris we quickly entered the gully. Conditions were surprisingly good. Even for ice axing. The scenic gully, which becomes quite steep towards the end, entertains us along the way with small avalanches, dripping icicles, and even a few rocks rattling. We exit the gully to the right as a rock step blocks the path. After the gully we reach the slope, where we decide how and what. There wasn't much snow anywhere, water was dripping everywhere, sometimes we stuck crampons into grass and rocks, sometimes into packed snow. Conditions were totally mixed. The south slope is quite steep in places, so we took every step very carefully. But we still somehow found the way directly to the top. At 11:30 we were at the top. View as far as the eye can see. Since the snow was turning into a puddle almost before our eyes, we quickly descended from the top - over the roof and then turned west again, towards our gully. Once more we crossed the exposed slope and descended backwards down the gully. We trudge to the gully entrance, the whole backward path was already new again - avalanches had slid over our footprints. When we come out of the gully, we don't choose the same way home. We crossed towards the summer path that goes from Krma to Staničev dom. Again we trudged and involuntarily sunbathed. In between we got a bit lost among the pines, but in the end we joined the path to Krma. Conclusion – we did a demanding tour, 11h and 20km. The memory of this tour will be hot. BLOG ZAPIS
