Great photo of the "lighthouse". This is indeed Dobrac, 2166m high mountain and its ruined slope due to the Great Carinthian earthquake in 1348. In the back are the Austrian High Tauern and the highest Veliki Klek (Großglockner), which with its 3798 m is Austria's highest peak.

The peak behind Dobrac is Hochalmspitze, left in the fog, Ankogel. Grossglockner is a bit further left. nasmehnasmeh

Already early in the morning there was a crowd on the road to Vrata valley. The parking lot was quite lively too. No idea where all that went, not to Škrlatica. Only I turn that way.
A little above the forest two "pumped" hillwalkers overtake me. They flew past.
When I reach the wall entrance, there were already several hiking poles leaning there. Obviously hikers started ascent in the dark. Somewhere in the middle we meet, they return I wave to the top.
When I reach the summit no one was up there. On such a nice day I was almost one hour completely alone on top of Škrlaticamežikanje Then they started arriving slowly, here and there someone, all within normal.
On return it was lightly windy, just right to better endure the heat. The lower I got the more it burnedjezik
But Škrlatica is the queen, and nice to visit her nasmeh

Today I dashed to Škrlatica even in the moonlight. Weather in the morning excellent, path also OK. Then I went to Dolkova špica and via Rušje back to Vrata. Nice!nasmeh

Yesterday we also visited Queen Skrlatica, who looks through the Gates at King Triglav and with her grandeur announces that she's not so easily accessible and that you'll have to make quite an effort for her to let you into her embrace.
I remember an older gentleman from years ago who explained to us on top of Triglav how he conquered Skrlatica and only succeeded on the third attempt when she took pity on him and let him come to her. According to his story, twice she sent threatening clouds with warning lightning over him and drove him away before he reached her summit. He didn't dare defy her anger and respectfully withdrew. Only on the third try did she let him come. I can still see the glow and pride in his eyes as he told us this with great enthusiasm.
We had more luck conquering her, as she really welcomed us nicely and let us come the first time, and on the way to her showed us her flower garden with wonderful floral arrangements blooming at every step to her. At the top she rewarded us with beautiful views and sights of her King through the Gates which were really wide open.
Really wonderful reception at the Queen that will stay in our memory for a long time.

Team of twelve colleagues decided to go to Skrlatica for the weekend. Weather looks stable, so start at 6 from Vrata. After summit continue over Dolkova Spica, Križ to Pogačnik where we overnight. Praise to the team in the hutnasmehThe tour is very long but beautiful. Second day over Sovatna to Vrata.nasmeh

For the weekend I plan to go to Skrlatica. Since I'm from Mb and would need to get up at 2.00 I'm leaning to start one day earlier and sleep in the bivouac.
Anyone have info on the bivouac and if it's full of Czechs again?
