Yesterday's hot day we cooled off a bit by visiting our queen. We didn't freeze, we sweated hard on the path we started before sunrise, awaited it a bit below the bivouac, then continued in varying temperatures. The wall was still shaded while climbing it, a bit past 9am at the cross with great views that lasted a short time:rollingeyes:...soon mist from the valley rises and starts covering the peaks. After snack and longer break we leave the summit, happy that it's a bit cloudy which eases the descent...in the forest sauna again:rollingeyes mežikanje

The sun is peeking out, and we are admiring it.

There were quite a few and they didn't let themselves be disturbed.

Bivouac, how much longer will it serve its purpose.

We listened to the events on the Rokavi and watched the climbers.

There is plenty of it and it grows nicely.

But it was time to go down to the valley.

On the 10th pic is the Rokav group mežikanje

with Žaga (connecting ridge between Visoki Rokav and Škrlatica).

Hey, what do you know about conditions at Czech embassy or at bivouac? Are they camping up there or not? Thanks and best regards.

Last three days lots of them (Czechs) around Julijci so maybe camping up there. A good month ago when I was there none. jezik

Škrlatica is dry. Barely any snow anywhere, and even that only on non-problematic parts. But these days the summit is in thick fog...

Today, wonderful conditions, the path is dry to the climbing part of the path, there snow begins which accompanies you all the way to the top. The snow is hard and frozen. nasmeh

Despite predictions of "deep" plus at night on Škrlatica, the snow was frozen yesterday, so these days on the route do not go without winter gear. We were up there an hour before sunrise, waited for it, then quickly back down. nasmeh

Yes, weather forecasters must always be taken with reserve. Even at eleven the snow on Dva in pol was still hard.
For the return over Stenar you probably didn't decide?!

Yesterday I was on Škrlatica and Dolkovi špici. Nice tour, completely dry, snow was only a sample and off the path, so winter gear was completely unnecessary this time. Towards red škrbina under Dolkova špica there was a bit more snow, of course on north side, but it could be gone around nicely along the edge. But snow hard and frozen like concrete, so careful. Descent on SW side back to valley all dry.

Nice tour for New Year's Day. Path from Vrata to bivouac IV passable without winter gear. Snow starts at 1700 m a.s.l., but no major issues.
Further to Križ conditions more wintery, as path runs in shade, crampons handy. In the wall itself no snow except at entrance, but frozen. From Peričnik waterfall to summit and back 9.20 hrs, 21.4km, +-4200m.

Happy trails on all paths in 2016. nasmeh

Snow started at 1500m altitude and from there it was of course more and more. All tracks led towards Stenar Saddle, but ours went right towards Škrlatica. Without skis it's hard, but doable anyway. In the wall above 2400m very good base. The ridge has wind crust. After descent we headed to Dolkova Špica, where it started snowing while the sun was baking. We continued under Križ. I to the valley, buddy climbed Križ.
