Only true mountain enthusiasts can think and write so beautifully about mountains, and Edina surely is one! I always follow her sentences with enthusiasm word for word, it doesn't matter which mountain she climbed! Bravo Edina, you could enthuse for hiking even those who haven't cared about hikes so far!

Thanks everyone for the numerous praises, I'm a bit embarrassed, since there are many among mountaineers who record experiences in our wonderful mountains. I'll repay tomorrow when I write how it was today at the top of another beautyvelik nasmeh.

@lijaneja, I didn't see you at the top today though, but the cross above you was shining. You very nicely photographed and presented some beauties that I missed ...

lijaneja, you too have nicely presented the wild and lonely mountain world to us, which is reachable for most forumers only via Hribi.net. Thanks!

Yesterday 4.7. also I was on Škrlatica from Vrata. Conditions quite tough. To the turnoff for Stenarska vratca real Turkish sauna. Low clouds and humidity by the cubic. Further, drier air and on last Dolk already quite hot. First wall part still shaded, second sunny. Fixed gear impeccable and gorgeous route. On top nice views to Julian giants and part of Karavanke, rest invisible (KSA). Quite a few visitors. Recommend visit, just take enough fluids along.

Domch, think we met (no showers at all mežikanje).

Confirm all written, both regarding brought drinks (unless melting snow, since no streams from snowfields anymore) and heat - I had quite a crisis on ascent, so advise against Škrlatica in these conditions for high BP, heart issues.

Descent partly in fog, partly under clouds, so still breathable...

For descent we got lucky with fog up to bivouac and not so scorching. Yes, early hour will be the right one and lots of fluids in pack. Snowfield is by path on last Dolk, but for sheep quenching thirst with it, I served them salt from my sweaty skin. Plenty of snow still in that cave.
Salt, an indispensable food.1
Still plenty of snow in reserve.2

I agree, snow still in many places, but melting for water refill probably quite time-consuming. A few years ago on same route experienced real streams from snowfields pouring on path and just held bottle there. But that's past this year.
Good luck on all paths!

Yesterday to the top from Vrata, the sun was burning me at the start, from bivouac 4 onwards it shyly peeked. After 14 it looked like a thunderstorm was brewing, when I got to the valley it was completely clear.
