I think the pics unfortunately aren't the best (old camera, too strong sun).
When you visit the little hill from all possible sides and preferably multiple times, it's not hard to recognize it even from a distance.
If possible, I avoid crowds, in summer I visit more pathless hills, in winter more prominent ones.
I hope the group descended before dark, as they seemed very, very slow to me.

"lijaneja", right decision to turn right in Vrata...personally I prefer peaks not mass-visited, can focus more on the beauty on and beside the path....
About photos...gotta be there to make a nice pic, that's the point.

Does anyone maybe have info on conditions from Vrata to Škrlatica...is winter gear needed...ice axe and crampons?

Hi!
On Saturday I tried to conquer Škrlatica, but couldn't reach the top
Snow starts around 1400-1500 m, 20-50 cm deep, higher you go more there is, when entering climbing part up to waist and more, so at 2500 m had to turn back, too dangerous, no proper grip, couldn't reach belays and pitons simply, snow collapsed under me...
Snow was soft, so no crampons and ice axe needed, but winter gear definitely recommended, especially now as it's getting colder...

Last snowfall front in Gorenjska was obviously quite fragmented, unevenly distributed by precipitation intensity. Nice ascent, the only one that counts

Not only red horned critter has no respect for mountains (stubbornly calls KSA king Grinta), but also sees other visitors not as humans and counts them "by pieces" as inferior items...
