Nice tour in beautiful surroundings. It's a pleasure to look at the pics. That Škrlatica had no visits in recent months, I almost don't believe. If not others, Kugy was up there a while ago.

Pankrt snowfields passable without gear, even if still frozen in the morning? Or can they be bypassed? So I won't mess unnecessarily with winter boots in midsummer

Tomaž11 and Pankrt, great photos, congratulations to both. Tomaž11, the first one is excellent. We also plan to visit Škrlatica this year, and conditions suggest soon, so I'm browsing for information. Good luck everyone, val.

Snow is still there, but doable without ice axe and crampons... just a bit more caution.

Yesterday the makers of mountain weather forecasts failed the test again. No rain at all. I saved on sunscreen, and candies remained for me Since from our queen there were no nice views, I headed to the neighboring Rokavček to see if it's better there. And I didn't miss. At least the summit was in the sun all the time. Descent from the Škrlatica saddle all the way to the basin on dry rocks, so I carried the ice axe in vain. Together with other unnecessary things I left it in the basin, from where I climbed along the well-traceable ¨¨path¨¨ on scree towards the mountain. No difficulties this time, as I hit it right the first time everywhere, and there are quite a few cairns erected. Return, of course, the same way. This time I had an altimeter with me, which showed that the descent from the saddle to the basin is exactly 200m, Lower Rokav (2500) rises 170m above it.

@mailman, I think here it's not about that much knowledge and difficulty, since hiking the optimal route in my opinion nowhere exceeds III. Of course everything is very crumbly and you mustn't get tangled. I see the bigger problem in the relatively long approach (for some Škrlatica is already too much for a one-day trip and that's why they use bivouac) and too few descriptions in various guidebooks. A hiker with average fitness and at least some mileage (experience) can visit both summits in less than ten hours.

Tone, don't underestimate yourself. After strenuous ascent to Škrlatica still descent and on demanding pathless terrain to Lower Rokav..., that's no cat's cough.
