Start in Kranjska Gora, Julijana - new path and agency, Peace Park, Kekec... at Vršič crazy regarding parking, at Slemenova Špica unforgettable autumn fairy tale, glowing larches, lots of people, lots. Up the left path under Mojstrovka, back the classic. Really nice day, no clouds.

Some computer problems are to blame for my being late posting my pics from Slemen, taken 22.10.2019, when larches still had lots of golden needles, which fell a bit early this year. So still putting on display this colorful annual classic from Slemen. lp nasmeh

Yesterday in the rain from home, but from Jesenice the sun shone nasmeh

, which was favourable to us till Vrata on the return, but that couldn't spoil the good mood anymore.

The path quite well trodden, sometimes led also over snowy junipers up and down, could walk completely on one's own, since the ground was hard. Behind the Mojstrovkas no sun this time, but views still wonderful, yesterday reached the High Turrets and further if the earth were not round nasmeh

Yesterday quite a few hikers surprised me, most with small crampons on their feet, well, there was one coming towards us in some town shoes.

Also surprised by the closure of Erjavčeva hut, lower Tonkina hut. Good that Mihov dom was open, also had hot drinks (not to catch cold).

Really nice was yesterday's day, Slemenova Špica and views on Jalovec something that revives you the next day too nasmeh

Today made use of the free day. Due to temperature inversion quite warm. Crowds not excessive. Road to Vršič dry, parking spot available too, if not otherwise at Erjavčeva koča. Accessible snowy idyll without special danger even for less experienced.

Today the path is still completely snow-covered, early enough also still frozen.

The snow caps on the boulders show a rather thick snow cover.

Already on the slope of Slemenova špica - always beautiful larches.

The sun slowly peeked out from behind Mojstrovka.

Back down from Vratc - the snow has become crusty.

Some morning glimpses from Slemenova špica, which was more or less deserted today. Trail to Vratca pass completely firm and dry. Further conditions almost wintery. Usual path under snow and partially beaten at start, soon tracks disappear, walking further could be dangerous due to slipping. Turned back a bit and towards screes, then our way to top of Slemenova špica. Ridge still under snow, summit rocky. Returned same path, had problems plowing through snow. Met some hikers only on descent to initial dry path section. Almost all summer geared and equipped.

First day of three-day vacation in Kranjska Gora used for ascent to Slemenova špica from Tamar. Up past Črne vode, down through Grlo. Due to bad weather forecast not many hikers anywhere on the path. Under Mojstrovke walls noticed large chamois family too. Grlo as always completely shattered and crumbly. No real path here, but passages easily found.

Yes, to the peak it's dry and today quite warm - probably the same for tomorrow. Larches are there, of course nasmeh

. But not yet in those real colors - probably that was the question.

Slemenova špica today - I think those glowing yellow colors are not there yet.

On Wednesday we walked from Vršič pass to Slemenova špica and then to Vršič summit. The path was still partly icy in the morning, later muddy. Too little snow for skiing, but probably more today after yesterday's snowfall. Today chains are mandatory on the car. Larches are golden yellow and, still dressed in snow, a real feast for the eyes.
