SLA: most terrain on Stenar above 2000 m requires ice axe and crampons. In our team only one good skier (also touring), who always enjoys breaking trail the whole way, so it went like with a snowcat, just a bit slower to the top...;-)
On the road not too much snow, up top about 15 cm. Wheel tracks formed and any 4x4 should manage, of course with good tires. Problem only those two steep pitches above Peričnik....;-)

On Sunday around eleven I wanted to drive to Peričnik, and there was a round white sign with a red border at the start of the gravel. There were obvious wheel tracks of people who had driven past the sign, but the sign was there and the road was closed.

For weighting to make the hill, we all sat on the back wheel, so we probably overlooked the sign :-D

Yes, ŠIMETA, in the past we used to hang on the rear bumper (Fiat, Beetle, BMW), today's cars don't have them anymore.

Otherwise, conditions on Stenar are more than excellent, passage through the Stenar saddle is super, a bit of easier climbing, otherwise no problems. Descent via Sovatna on some parts due to hard ground needs a bit more caution.
In Gubno also excellent conditions, our variant of ascent and descent provided even details of alpinistic flavor.

Today we went to Stenar, already at Aljaž in Vrata 15 hikers gathered, we continued the path towards Stenar, over Stenar saddle, returned the same way, snow on ascent from saddle hard, on return "wet"... below saddle dry snow, down below some ice on the most difficult part.... In Mojstrana, Juš joined us, so we finally met in person, I have good-positive opinions about him. This company, the group we have on FB hiking is super, great... gotta go again. Everyone else is welcome in this group or check the "together to the mountains" section on the left.
