No need to waste words on the fact that Struška is now a good choice. There's still enough snow to hike or ski from the start at Pristava. It was like that on Tuesday too and probably a few more days. More at:

On Saturday we drove to Pristava and started the ski tour. We climbed to Struška on the snowy road and like many others to the top. Snow was softened, only here and there still partly frozen. We skied towards Belska planina, from where we also climbed to Korenščica and skied directly to Pusti rovt and returned skiing over meadows and pastures. On Sunday super conditions also for hiking. Up with snowshoes, down with crampons, but both doable without. BTW, biggest problem is parking in Javorniški Rovt. Lots of cars.

On Wed, 3.3. conditions were fantastic. Finally on snow! Dolenjska had almost none this winter, plus closure - so I really wanted it. Snow compacted, morning frozen. Good walking with microspikes. No wind except bit on top, sun warmed strongly, so many basked like martins at hut on Belska planina. Back via ridge. Only around 4pm sinking started in forest above Pusti rovt.
Big thanks to skiers who stuck my lost hat on wipers.
They didn't close the fences so nature took care of it itself.1
Really nice, snow whiteness and blue sky without a cloud.2
The fence is well protected so no one topples it.3

At the top there's a football pitch. The ball would have to be searched for quite deep if it fell off the field.5
On the ridge, even at 3 pm, it wasn't sinking much.6
Snow is melting quickly. Golica is almost bare.7
Even at the neighbors, only the peaks are still white.8
In the forest above Pustil Rovt, it was already sinking quite a bit. Late hour of course. But it was worth it!9

Today nice loop to Struška summit and on to planina Seča. Today good conditions for walking. Wonderful views. Road from Pristava hut to Križovec drivable less than 1 km, then snowy.

Yesterday to Struška from Javorniški Rovt. At start some cars, some roadside, but nearly all to Golica it seems. Met only one ski tourer and two hikers. Snow starts soon after turn to Pusti Rovt. Very nice warm sunny day, clouding only on return. First towards Kočna saddle and bit on border ridge, then turned to track to Belska planina and direct to Struška top. Lengthened path by about hour but safer.
Return same path. Descent from top to Svečica on soft snow express. Views all day wonderful, far reaching smile Struška top spacious panorama all sides, saw Basko Lake too. Peace on top hard to find, silence with its sound. Great choice when spring in valley. smile
Soon after the start of the hike - left Struška (hut also visible), right Belščica and between them Medji dol1

Yesterday (Monday, May 3) late afternoon. I left the car at Križovec.

Snow patches on the road start a bit below Pusti Rovt. Compacted snow on the road that branches right towards Svečica pasture under Kočna saddle. With altitude its thickness increases, maybe 10 or 15 cm new. On the road in the upper part at least half a meter or more of old, wind-packed snow. Below the pasture it was sinking over the boot, in the upper part among bushes up to knees in places. In the gentle gully a bit below the summit wind made a huge channel with steep walls, due to harder snow the terrain there is easier to cross. Near the summit there's bare ground, but the summit itself seemed like one big cornice to me. Nothing more was visible, the mountain was in cloud fog in the upper part. No tracks of predecessors, so orientation towards the summit was tricky at times.

Otherwise nice late afternoon tour.

Struska welcomes us strangely this week, sun going up and down, up top everything foggy and windy. But in the morning it was still quite frozen and slippery on the wind-blown stuff.

Really don't know exactly, but Encian was already there last weekend along the path to Golicanasmeh Struska was pretty snowy at least from sight, so don't know..

Belska planina and Ptičji vrh, yesterday...Road through savske jame is already quite damaged. Biggest ditch at turn-off to Mar. planina towards Križovci. Can go via Pusti rovt, just road torn up in places. At start of planina rescuing car that slid into ditch. Avriklji on Belska planina quite fresh, gentians, Zois violets, narcissi and other flowers wonderful. Only fog wanted my company and gathered from all sides. But beautiful and Ptičji vrh full of narcissi and dandelion flowers, buttercups and other flowers... For all whose steps don't carry well anymore, check blog below mountain paradise blooming for you too. Revive memories and take care..nasmeh

Bravo Majdanasmeh Belska and Struška are waiting for me, I hope soon, just the weather needs to improve as during the week I have time only in the afternoon, and for the next few days thunderstorms are forecast right in the afternoonmrk pogled with such a forecast better not go higher, I experienced one thunderstorm in the mountains and hope no morenasmeh Regards
