Today on Triglav it really hit "the spot". Not a cloud above us, huge cloud cover south of Bohinj and to the west, a real sea. North and east crystal clear, though some cloudiness in the distance. Started in pitch dark from end of road at Rudno polje, back again in pitch dark. On such a day I simply wasn't rushing anywhere. Path ok, not too slippery at all to Konjski preval, further all dry including climbing. First time from Planika and path didn't seem any easier than from Kredarica, though said to be noticeable difference in difficulty. At summit weather for short sleeves and even shorts. Babel of languages. Vodnik and Planika closed. At Vodnik water and emergency overnight (from Czech pair).

Hi! Could someone please show (draw) the path over Prag on some picture from the opposite side of the valley? I follow it even below Begunjski vrh and then before descending into the valley, but in between I can't locate it at all! Thanks for the help and best, robi

Does anyone have latest info on the climbing route from Kredarica or Planika over Mali Triglav to Triglav, especially regarding snow and gear?

Called Kredarica on 18.10. at 14:30. Some fixed ropes still under snow and ice, so currently not doable without winter gear. To Kredarica no issues.

hi. I tried ascent to Triglav yesterday but no go, mainly due to strong wind (gusts to 100 km/h) and conditions not great either, big cornices forming, with ice axe you help yourself only so much as you can stick it in because everything too soft. conditions still need to set. lp

hi. I think it's doable, not much snow, some small crampons in backpack don't hurt, snow kinda fell at cca 1800 m but warm temps already taken quite a bit, but also quite wet so might slip a bit. lp

In shady spots with positive temperatures snow stays compacted and dangerous for slipping; from Kanin, Triglav was in full winter cover.

I was at Kredarica today. Up to Kredarica no problem - winter gear not needed. On Triglav itself there's up to half a meter of southern snow and without winter gear you can't go. I'll write a more detailed report later.

Yesterday on Triglav. Started in Vrata at dawn. Up through Plemenice, descent from summit towards Planika. Then continued to Dolič and on towards Luknja and back to Vrata. On the Western Triglav plateau there's snow, which at least yesterday didn't cause major issues. Later in the wall, climbing towards Triglav Notch, at least ice axe was necessary. Otherwise conditions yesterday were tricky, as we all know how polished the rock on Triglav is, and if it's wet (a real stream running down it) or snowy, I hope it's clear to everyone how that looks . I chose the slightly longer path to Planika and Dolič for the dry trail, as I'd had enough of snow and dangerous steps on wet rock. During the descent the sun was blazing quite strongly, so I felt like in midsummer hehe... So quite a dual tour, with "winter" on northern sides and "summer" on southern. Cheers!
