Today on Triglav. Tominšek up, via Prag down, both routes first time. Tominšek is pig-steep all the way, without poles death for knees. Big thanks for the poles! Climbing part great, in places fairy-tale scenic, not fully protected many places, gotta touch rock often. 30m long x 4m wide hard snow tongue on path persists and will long. Needs concentration and no height fear to cross. Safer bypass lower side of tongue possible (slip not fatal there) with some scrambling on nearby rocks. Generally whoever feels relaxed on Tominšek will cross tongue fine. But just my opinion from personal and watching some hikers there. Snow still on Podi makes tour more varied. Medium people on summit, afternoon processions of Croats and Czechs from Vrata. Descent via Prag. Not very interesting path, and it never ends...

"30 m long x 4 m wide tongue of hard snow" In that case ice axe, nothing to mess with poles, recently on a tour I slipped luckily had ice axe to stop without abrasions no first aid needed. Without ice axe worst could happen, once sliding you're "done" if not stop in few meters. Helmet on head for rock hit I had too, not just falling rocks.

Actually a bit sorry I gave risk assessment on crossing, don't have the knowledge. So, I'll just say I and a couple others crossed it successfully no drama on made steps (flat, not sloped), don't advise others.

@ljubitelj gora: you had "huge" number of incidents. More and more wondering: does it happen due to "irresponsibility" or are you really such a "soft master".

I think no dilemma have or not. Ice axe always belongs to gear, especially high mountains where snow expected even in August.

Yesterday up from Pokljuka, path dry. Careful on link between Kredarica and Planika. There recommend ice axe use.

Hello, yesterday we went up and down via Prag. Path is ok, a bit before Krederica there are still snowfields that one can cross nicely. We did it in one day, although a bit strenuous for one day but it went. Effort rewarded and all happy and satisfied. Lp

Slovenian is very good in this case... Just look at the forum and we'll find lots that don't resemble Slovenian! Some try hard to "beautify" the forum with not all understandable dialect!!!! AND IT'S TRUE!!! I once wrote: "We all went to Slovenian schools!"

Dialects are dying out. Let them be preserved.

Between sloppiness and dialect there is a fundamental difference.

Dialects are the main charm of our language, as much as is left at all, and teachers taught us that without dialect there is no language . Triglav will need to be visited again soon.

Hi! Probably wrong thread but I think I'll get answer here first. Trying to reserve Dom na triglavskih jezerima - I call PD (as it says to contact) and they say call hut on mobile. When I call that number some lady answers who doesn't know what I'm talking about. Does anyone know a mobile number and person to contact? Thanks in advance!

Come on, what's wrong with Slovenian now, someone writes something wrong not pure Slovenian words or their dialect and the topic turns to the other side. In Slovenia we have full of dialects and bad if we don't understand...
