I confirm the words of @lg-ja one page back: via Tominškovo you can go without winter gear! Source: Aljažev dom in Vrata.

Today, start at 4 a.m. from Krma via Kredarica... Thanks to Robi for that as he was the guide... At Triglav summit nice view, sunny, could see to the sea too.

Some parts from Kredarica were frozen (rocks), because a little snow fell at night and didn't melt even in the morning hours, so caution was needed

This weekend we'd go to Triglav via Tominškova route... possible without crampons and ice axe? Need to reserve in advance for sleeping at Kredarica or not? Thanks!

Reservation at Kredarica and generally in the Julian Alps pretty much mandatory now, a few days ahead nasmeh

Via Tominšek is definitely possible without winter gear. So little snow left in the gully that on Sunday I had to guess if that was the notorious snow patch everyone talked about!

As for reservation, of course also without, if you don't mind in the worst case sleeping on the floor squeezed like a sardine with other climbers. But to enjoy the benefits of the all-inclusive arrangement at Kredarica, reservation is of course mandatory as soon as possible.

Last year mid-August with nice weather and lots of visitors I got a spot at Planika on shared bunks without reservation.

...To Triglav at night....Interesting to walk in headlamp glow. No sheer walls, deep views, just path under feet. Above starry sky. As dawn starts the red changes quickly and mighty peaks soon glow yellow. When Triglav shadow appears on mists and then glory on it, rewarded for all endured cold and waiting. Forget everything and just admire new day's beauty, fairy-tale beautifulnasmehnasmehnasmeh

Triglav, 18.8.2014. Took advantage of the still quite nice forecast and started from the rather cold Vrata under a starry sky towards Luknja, where it was windy and cloudy on the Primorska side and not very promising. Ascent through Plemenice went in more cloudy and foggy atmosphere, but around 2300m I "broke through" the clouds and at least on the Gorenjska side it was really beautiful. The snowfield was frozen but unproblematic and easy to pass. Then ascent to the top without any issues. From car to top met only two people, but already at Triglavska Škrbina it enters a completely different world regarding that. Classic Triglav crowd with foreigners in main roles. Still, I visit it every year even in peak season and accept that. At the top sit a bit and enjoy the nice day, which are so scarce this year. Descend quite smoothly, partly my own way and soon at Kredarica. Walk around the hut and head to Staničev dom past Rž, which I also climb. Despite slight fatigue decided to go to Rjavina too. Path there not my favorite, as descend decently in between, then bite into slope again and long ridge to main summit ahead. Weather served well, Triglav held back clouds from Primorska side all day. From top back same way to Staničev dom and after short break via Prag to valley. Really well spent day!nasmeh
