Admin I suggest open topic "Together to mountains", where everyone can pour their heart desires. And must be made so posts can be deleted after - cuz some girl would get too many offers or me for example... velik nasmeh
Well, to you Mate07 good luck anyway, sorry I prefer girls jezik

Hey. I'm still thinking if I should go this evening and sometime until morning (with intermediate dozing) towards the summit. I'll wait to see how the weather will be towards evening, because I don't want to get drenched just then. LP

I plan to go to Triglav this weekend. Weather says different every day. Not to mention different forecasts, so don't know what to think.
Will this weekend be suitable for the trip? I've been up already so have some experience, but girlfriend hasn't. Don't want to tire her too muchnasmeh

Oh, and a buddy said it's good to get "high altitude card" cuz worth already at overnight, let alone if sth happens. How much and where to get?

I don't want to be smart but I don't understand how you "get yourselves" into the mountains without any map, book.... scary no mrk pogled

Good thing there are no more accidents in the mountains with such an irresponsible approach to this activity. For starters, you need to join a Mountaineering Association, then attend some club trips. The paid membership fee pays back very quickly when using overnight stays in mountain huts, since discounts for PD members are really big.

Last Saturday I was on Triglav, and I really saw more people braking the descent on that last part.. Well, if they had a bit more knowledge it wouldn't hurt, I suppose. People sometimes really descend into what they should better bypass.. You probably saw on Mali Triglav the names of four guys struck by lightning in 1972. Well, that day I was, four-year-old, in Aljažev dom with mom, my dad with 4 friends on top. And he showed me later where and how they got hit.. That's what I wanted to write for attention and respect to the mountains, though I'm not some great mountaineer myself. If I manage I'd show you some picture, but don't know how to upload pics..jezen. Ah, Sunday I was on Rjavina via climbing route, which isn't as hard as they write...nasmeh

Said and done. In the end I did the intermediate drinking right in the warm Triglavski dom. Regarding the map though approximately like this- if you don't know how to use it it's the same if you don't have it (yeah you also need some special gray cell to read a map), but it's very sensible to inquire beforehand and prepare for the trip, especially if it's your first time and you prepare some reserve plan, in case something goes differently than you originally planned.

Today I went via Plemenice to Triglav. Descended via Prag. On the summit meeting with Triglavski, who also came via Bamberga. Ice axe no longer needed.

Bojan, if there will be a protest rally on top of Triglav, let me know, I'll surely join.

P.S. nice trip, nice report..

As Bojan already reported, we met on the summit, my ascent this time was the 344th. I then descended to Planika and later visited the staff at the hut on Dolič. The hut is provisionally supplied, so don't avoid it, it's possible to sleep there too.
Cougar SV has circled Triglav several times, so there was probably no expert commission inspecting the tower1

Back to the mountain paradise..........it always pulls me again into the depths of the seven Triglav lakes; something of the most beautiful a person can experience; eye and soul caressed by the last or first sun rays, casting shadows on every tiniest piece, pebble, blade of grass or drop and composing a tiny mosaic of wonderful lakes and walls, they caress the soul and eyes and accumulate energy for all that awaits you down there, far away, in reality....; start where about 45 min walk above Planina Vogar the road ends, then steep ascent to Planina Viševnik, descent to Planina Jezero, and then a jump to the Hut at Triglav Lakes; fairytalenasmeh

I'm interested in at what altitude the Planika hut under Triglav is located. Thanks in advance for the answer.

Last weekend I was on Triglav. And besides good things I also have a bunch of remarks. First on the marked paths. I was up there years ago, but I don't remember everything and at two places I had to search for the path because it wasn't properly marked. I solved it with the map. Absolutely unacceptable to me is that there are so many fallen trees on the path and no one bothers to clear them. Paths around the trees are already clearly visible, so the trees have been lying there very looooong time.
With my girlfriend we arrived at the hut by Triglav Lakes at 13:50, then we take a break until 14:30. We see on the sign that to Triglav it's still 5 hours walk. We said, we can surely manage at least to Dom Planika, where by this logic max 4 hours, if the sign marks 5 hours to Triglav. I would like to see the hero who manages to hike this path in 5 hours?! Let that daredevil who can do it and wrote it on that sign report himself. When we reached the start of the path over Hribarice we met people who said they had 4 hours to the place we met (which we checked personally the next day), and we walked good two hours (normal pace). In the end we slept at the hut at Prehodavci, which we must praise. Food excellent!

On descent we also ran into paths that are several kilometers without markings. Even more, we found a sign that was misleading. Same direction both ways. These paths are very poorly marked. Obviously in old times a lot was done on this, now only for the cash register apparently.
The icing on the cake was when we saw you have to pay "for the path" to see the Savica waterfall.

Years ago when I was on Triglav, everything was without remarks, now things are obviously getting worse.

Otherwise we had fun and nice hike. It tires you a bit too. Praise to all people in huts who work there. Very friendly, helpful.

Sunday, still in the dark I set off from Vrata towards Luknja. In the North Triglav wall three lights are shining, look at them, these were even earlier than me nasmeh. When the first sun rays embrace the summit, Luknja is behind me. Short break, I put on the harness (although after years of experience it's more unnecessary ballast than anything else..but better on me than at home in the corner, and it's useful to take nice photos securely attached nasmeh helmet on head. Path over Plamenice, for me anyway the nicest, protections flawless. I take time, photo chamois family that poses really shamelessly. I don't want to go on yet but they come behind me, bunch of German-speaking without helmets, without gear, two I see even without backpacks. Better me in front of them than them in front of me. At the top surprisingly few people, altogether I count 10..early hour. I photo the tower, who knows maybe this is even my last before they move it to the valley..(what monuments some erect for themselves, makes you want to puke). Slowly I head to Kredarica. Up there a crowd is rolling, most foreigners. First I meet a middle-aged couple, the man has anorak tied around waist, bottle peeks from pocket, everything they have is in pockets. A bit further I meet a family, father guards his about 8 year old child by holding his hand, you can see the kid is scared..the pressure almost blows my helmet off my head. On the fingers of one hand I can count those who are properly equipped who went to the top that time. At Kredarica crowd, I alone head to Staničeva hut, sleep there too. In the morning I get up at dawn, weather guys at Kredarica tell me it will hold somehow until 12, then showers and thunderstorms. So as soon as possible to the valley. At the junction Prag - Tominškova, I choose Prag, it starts drizzling, fog descending, clouds too, today will be colorful. After one hour descent I meet the first ascending and also the first properly equipped. Behind me some more descending, going slowly, rock wet and slippery, I descend the last pitches and in shelter of rocks two couples, guy's crampons dangling from backpack, only one has boots on, never heard of via ferrata..again pressure lifts my helmet..can't overlook..greet them they reply crisgod aha Germans..tell them they are only at the beginning of the path, thunderstorms forecasted, advise against ascent and suggest return with me..one lady is immediately for it, the other three persuade her..they'll wait a bit more, then decide, comes the answer..ok.. I head on alone. I cross Triglavska Bistrica when it pours, lightning and thunder joyfully, but I'm almost dry. After one hour at Aljažev dom, those who went after me arrive, ask if they met Germans and if returning..answer no, we persuaded but they went on.
Therefore full support to triglavski and his sharp replies and comments, obviously still far too little.
To all others choose paths and peaks suitable to your abilities.

To MIKO's remarks I would say this: When I go on a hike, I certainly check maps beforehand and look in some guide to see the walking time for a certain path, but I never completely rely on what's written on the sign. Walking time per guide from 7 Lakes over Hribarice to Dolič is 3h 30min, from Dolič to Triglav summit 2h 30min, so total 6h (and not via Planika as you state, where the path is even longer). Maybe you're right about marking, some paths are very well marked, some less, but we must understand that not all paths can be remarked every year. Do you think associations still have as many volunteers for this work as before? Funds are also fewer. Probably we'll have to get used to hiking paths like in other countries, where you see a path sign here and there. Nice mountaineering greeting!

MIKO I can't get over your sentence "Paths around trees are already clearly visible, so trees have been lying there very looooong."
Snow in high mountains doesn't melt at the same time as in the valley, just a month ago there was so much snow there that without winter gear it was impossible. I recommend you join some PD, everywhere they'll be happy for volunteers who at winter's end are ready to clear some winter-damaged and destroyed paths

Now on RTV slo an article about the fate of the tower on Triglav between Triglavski and Ekar is published. The latter claims there are only a few self-willed who oppose relocating the tower. Says a metallurgical team is needed to check the tower's condition???. Damn, doesn't any of their leaders cross the holy Slovenian summit?, every ordinary tinsmith could advise by eye and not waste money for nothing. Better they look at what the tower was like in neglected state, then discuss quasi-necessary humane premature protection of the tower - what absurdity and gap. So it's only about profiting from Jakob's noble intention, how, quite utopian in those times, to free Slovenes from foreign yoke. Need to thoroughly air out the ranks in PZS and first teach them how to tend to national treasures. Ekar go to India a bit and you'll see that old facades and tower temples are only respectfully renovated and only add divine things. If you remove even a part of something, it means desecration of gods and even replacing with new part wouldn't contribute to renewing old energies that have already formed on the top. PROTECT THE TOWER WHICH IS STILL IN GOOD CONDITION!

I don't even think of getting angry at anyone when I crawl under fallen trees, ride branches, climb over boulders, search for the path. All this sometimes happens on marked paths. This must be taken into account when we go into nature. This is part of nature and processes that happen daily. A bit of such gymnastics doesn't hurt.
