To reliably complete the mountain tour in one day, a start at 4.45 would be better.

My wife and I did this tour on Saturday, start at 4.30, return at 20.00. Crowds on the ascent from Kredarica, descent from the top more than two hours and a quarter (ropes of seventy hikers from Lek). So always count on that and start as early as possible. With a headlamp you can walk to Studorski preval, there it will be light enough to continue under Tosc.

I wonder if there is some path between Plemenice and Kredarica hut besides just the south side bypass
like
simon799. 09. 2016 14:07:43
Hm.
By south bypass do you mean past Planika?
You can go straight over Triglav...
Or also on the north side via Kugy ledge (unmarked, unprotected, very demanding...)

nickolas169. 09. 2016 14:12:58
yeah Planika I meant as south side yeah. anyway intention is to go via Plemenice, but could go up via Mali Triglav, because paths from Dolič and Planika are closed. tell me roughly how many hours walk on Triglav plateau Plemenice-Dom Kredarica?

The path from Planika to Mali Triglav is open in my opinion, they were fixing it a good month ago...
There is a shortcut approx from Glava in Zaplanja to Dolič-Planika path, but I haven't walked it myself, so someone who knows more should report.
Otherwise, you'll have to go down to Dolič and on to Planika, if you're 100% set on Plemenice...

From Planika over Mali Triglav is open. When you get below the summit wall, you go over scree under Rjavc and reach Dolič-Planika path.

Finally back on Triglav. Started with colleague from Rudno polje, climbed to Vodnik hut and continued to Planika hut where we overnighted. Next morning headed to summit via Triglavska škrbina and descended towards mali triglav and continued same path back to valley. Walk was great, just in last climbing part over škrbina fog caused some trouble, which spiced up the ascent even more. Great tournasmeh, cheers

Hi

I wonder what you think about tomorrow's weather?
Is it OK to go to Triglav or not?
I'm looking at ARSO (Aladin-precip), nothing shows rain till about 17:00, elsewhere shows rain....

Thanks for replies, opinions....

Some forecasts are less reliable, some more.

To me nowhere shows rain, but tomorrow chance of afternoon showers 20-30%. On Tuesday the probability of these is much smaller 10-20%, for Wednesday afternoon it would be a bit higher again.

After more than 20 years back on Triglav! Hand on heart, Triglav has always resisted me due to too much crowds. Nicer view on Očak from surrounding peaks. But … zavijanje z očmi
Our youngster has wanted the summit for several years. He constantly drew Aljaž Tower, browsed lots of pictures and videos online, the biggest impression made by last year's documentary on 'pleh with soul'. So we looked for options and ways to fulfill his big wish: on our own, with guide, combination …
After three test tours in high mountains the solution to the 'problem' showed: father and son roped together. We even chose the 'right' date with nice weather (= as many hikers as possible), and for the icing on the cake the celebration of 120th anniversary of Triglav Hut got into our plans … jezik
As befits the first time, we chose Rudno polje as starting point, continued past Vodnik Hut to Kredarica. There everything was already prepared for the celebration, which we did not attend, as we wanted to gather as much energy as possible for the next (long) day.
I observed the situation on and below Triglav: from the top the last ropes of 100 women were descending towards Planika, from Kredarica still quite a few visitors ascending. Those returning were already a bit tired, equipped as if they had just come from some sports superstore: tight clothes in all colors and shades, sunglasses of cool brands, equipped from head to toe ... velik nasmeh
Well … since we did not attend the celebration ourselves, we at least followed the second part, called 'po domače', audibly right from the room: accordion and zithers, singers and drinkers; beer in vain cooled the heated throats. Avsenik, Slak, Mihelič, then Modrijani and other folk/popularized/beer ones raised the festive mood.
Next morning I got up already after 5, to take a short walk around the hut, the most persistent were already ascending towards Mali Triglav in the glow of headlamps. And I teased them a bit – with a laser 'pointer' with range up to 2 km, I shone on them a bit – even those on the top. In the dark the green beam of light was visible more than excellently …
After breakfast we geared up and slowly ascended to the top. In between short breaks, meetings at narrow spots, in short – classic. On the top as usual: photos, baptism, calling home etc. Descent also appropriately slow; on the way to Planika rocks tumbled down several times …
We finished our hike in the evening at the starting point. Guess who was more tired at the end?

9.9.2016 first time on Triglav, set off alone ca 7.00 from Rudno polje parking by shooting range to Vodnik hut, Planika and Očak. Descended to Kredarica and back the same way. All in the same day, hike lasted 8 hours. On the way I also had company of 100 women. Impressions are unique.
